As a bio mom, thank you for acknowledging the child’s feelings and birth parents. Not all birth parents are criminals, not all birth parents are “bad parents” sometimes bio moms, and/or dads just need help in an area or a few areas. And yes I’m sure the majority have done things that most would never imagine. Coming from personal experience, there are bio parents who are not the stereotypical individuals and truly are having a far worse night or week while fighting to prove to a system that views them as guilty until proven innocent. I’d much rather lose sleep due to a crying baby than lose sleep because I’m not hearing my baby at all. Again thank you for being so vulnerable and not sugar coating things. God bless you and your family ❤

Thanks for your comment! Foster care is primarily about reunification, keeping families together. It's easy to forget that. Washington DC is currently experimenting with giving parents with kids in CPS custody monthly stipends. I'm excited about that experiment and curious to the result. In most of the country, foster parents receive monthly stipends for the kids in their care.

Awww this was heartbreaking for me. I lost my two children to foster care for two months back in 2012. I'm grateful that they were able to stay together and I'm so thankful I got them back in 2 months. It was terrible. You make a great video on this topic. Best of luck!!

Thank you for your video. Please consider not talking over music. It's a little bit anxiety producing. It's not really needed. You are wonderful, and you don't need that background racket to share your stories. Little bit of music goes a long way. It's best when people aren't talking, or if they're singing then it's good then😊. Take care and thanks for fostering.

My preschool teacher adopted a baby and taught us about foster parents and the fact some kids need parents. Ever since then I have refused the idea of creating more humans when so many young ones already need a family. I hope that my wealth later on in life will help me adopt and provide mental health care for kids in the system. Especially those in teen years that need a solid support system, therapy, and are less likely to be adopted. I hope I can provide that for even one person one day. In mental health treatment, I met many people who lives through the foster system and suffered lots of trauma. I hope I can make the biggest difference one day for them

Remember, the goal of fostering is not to adopt. The goal is reunification with their family. There are very few children in the US who need adoption. Have your own children and help these families with your extra means ❤

@@dee20221 Sometimes. Lots of us former fosters disagree with the sentiment that reunification should be the ultimate goal. It actually feels insulting to what we've been through. I know it depends on the person, but a poll I took on a foster site had the majority saying they wouldn't have wanted to be reunified. Instead, I approach fostering (as a f parent) as some should be reunified, but some need to be protected from ever returning to their parents.

@emac543 If your goal as a foster parent is to withhold them from their families, you shouldn't be a foster parent. Honestly

@@dee20221 Were you a foster kid? Seriously, you don't speak for us, neither do all the social workers. I think we know best and lots of us feel this way. Would you want to be returned, powerless, to abusers or seriously neglectful parents? Some should be returned (if good enough parents), and many kids should be protected from these homes at all costs.

I grew up in Foster Care. The plan was Reunification but in the 16 years I never met my mom and got to talk to my dad on the phone sometimes. I met hundreds of new people from homes to facilities. I got to learn the customs and house rules of several different religious and not, people. I am interested to know your opinion of my Fostering Reality KZbin channel. Its a different perspective. I see this video is 3 years old. On another note want to compliment your editing. I am also trying different styles and formats for my videos. This editing stuff has always interested me and now I am a place in my life I can learn. I do hope this message finds you. Have a nice day

As a prospective foster parent, I appreciate your perspective and your empathy for the child. It rubs me the wrong way to hear you call her "our little girl", though. She was under your care but was not yours. Several things you say make me think that you do realize this, and maybe you meant that with all the best intentions, but it still may support others' misconceptions that if you foster a kid the goal is to become their permanent parents. That is usually not the case.

Please turn music way down and your voice up more. I have to lower volume to even hear you properly but you speak to low. I wish I could listen to the video but I honestly cannot. I hope it’s a good vid. New to your channel but I saw you being a foster dad and it’s so rare. So I hope to find ya again in the KZbin algorithm soon.

"We did not hear anything till midnight." That means that baby was stolen from her home at midnight in a gestapo fashion from a woman who was under a year postpartum and from what you are saying was a darn sight better and safer better for that baby than you two who by your own admission had never even baby sat a baby.i get that you are at least attempting to be sensitive about the evil that is the foster care system however if you pulled that behavior with a bear or a lioness they would kill you and have every right to do so. The ONLY reason foster care providers are getting away with legalized kidnapping is might makes right, however even by human standards we should not be interfering with the majority of mothers children and families. Our constitution in this country states that all mankind is created equal and that all people have the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And we also have it stated that we are free of unfair search and seizure. Cps is a law unto itself, it is not easily found guilty of any misconducts it perpetuates and has little to no oversight or consequences for abuse of its power, and neglect and abuse of children it seizes. Furthermore I hear a lot of people commenting on foster care legal kidnapping making out like the parents are either always bad or most of the time bad so they deserve their babies stolen. To those of you reading what I m saying and ready to attack me I say the following. Statistically you have better results with the real parents even if they are bad ones than you have with strangers who have no education on baby or child care, big huge men who are given little girls 6, and 8 and a seventeen year old girl without any oversight, and all of these youtube influencers who making money out of glamorizing baby theft. No one involved in foster care should be making money off of KZbin if you do post this stuff no child should ever be in it and it should not be allowed monetization because it is making money off of the destruction of families which is bad morally and bad practically because all of society is formed by families and if the family is constantly under attack society will eventually be no more because stuff like foster care creates more dysfunction it doesn't alleviate it.

Amen yes it is odd and stressful for child, children to being placed in new home in middle of night, why is that allowed? Appreciate foster dad being sensitive to fact how scared and confused a child would be. And yes system is so broken and prayfully look to Jesus how to care and raise up children in need Gospel, "bring children unto Me (Jesus) Our culture needs realize importance of children and allow them opportunity to grow up be wise, caring, productive adult rather than thinking " what happens to children doesn't matter, they'll get over it, hand me another beer and turn on football" God's truth, we are all created in His image, Genesis

@@taylorshain12 No apologies needed. Just thought I would make a suggestion. I still watched and liked the vid. Oftentimes videos don't need background noise. If you prefer the music, I would just lower the volume because some people may not be able to hear what you are saying. :)

@@samplayer6870 I had no issue with the video, as I mentioned. Clearly you are not hearing impaired. Lucky you! However, the suggestion was not for you, it was specifically for hearing impaired people who despite turning the volume up to the highest level still can't hear the video because the background music is louder than the norm. It doesn't happen often but it does happen. What was so offensive about my comment? I thought it was pretty respectful & it might serve him well if people are tuning out because they simply can't hear the video. Don't suggest "closed captioning". For the most part it's crap & you will understand about a quarter of a video. Thanks for letting me know how you feel.
