I have followed this man's journey since 1987, and I am happy to finally see his work come into light. It's too bad he does not receive more recognition from his life's achievement and will always remember this man for this incredible work..

I am watching this since years now. For me the big surprise was Puma Punku (unfortunately missed but I walked up Macchu Picchu around 2001). When it came up, its made out of geopolymer. It's very interesting to see what human ingenuity and technology made and will make possible. Hopefully there will be some videos and instructions for additive manufacturing from the event. Availability and pricing of the components, compared to existing concrete but also advantages and disadvantages will be interesting. Thank you Prof. Davidovits and all who make this possible.

Thank you Professor Davidovits. My only wish is to have a simple formula to make my own geopolymer, with easily sourced local materials and a easy to follow recipe. When you replicated the limestone geopolymer used to build the Giza pyramid you made it look easy ( 2 ingredients and water, then mix, pour, cure). Search as I might I haven't found that recipe.

You are right, it is not easy to do it, today, for the general public. But, it is going on. It is simply a matter of regulations and business opportunities.

Did we experienced hydraulic effect with GP? Hydraulic cement expands in the setting process. From expansion within a mold or in a desired 3D restricted space the material can self compacted to gain strength later after setting, ie compression, as well as tensile strength
@WilloPax Жыл бұрын
It never expands, forget what you know about OPC, it doesn't work here. Geopolymers are polymers, not hydrates. They are not called "geohydrate" for a purpose.

@@WilloPax thanks for commenting. Do you mean geopolymer can not expand? I was convinced that Inca Wall in SAQSAYWAMAN Peru are made of some unknown mix of geopolymer that expand as it cure. Leaving behind conformal and seamless fitted polygonal blocks. On the other hand all these blocks appears have been through swollen before it get set.

Yes only if you want to make foam by adding some chemical additives that creates gas and bubbles.

can someone kindly inform to me what sets geopolymer apart from normal concrete used in construction?

Very interesting! It's a shame that archaeology isn't covered much in this video! For your information, Mr Davidovits' work has been criticised by a French KZbin channel. Perhaps you're not aware of this, and would like a right of reply? Stéph. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5DYXpmji9eJhrM

They should start explaining why it is "normal" to find carbon in a volcanic rock, which is impossible. The rest is pointless. Critics from experts who have never made or touched any geopolymer in their life...

@@geopolymer Oui possible! Yes, they can! But they are still very much listened to and followed. So they serve as support for the critics and anti-Geopolymers of yesteryear! Perhaps Mr Davidovits should make an indisputable video on this? With other experts? Stéph.
