Nice breakdown of the first steps for starting a new project! I always get overwhelmed at the beginning, so this really helps to set things straight. Quick question. Which step do you find the most challenging when kicking off a new project? Any extra tips for handling it?

Getting involved with the project charter can be a challenge for BAs because many of them are brought in mid-project after the charter has been developed. This causes the BA to have to backtrack to get the needed information. My recommendation would be to work with leadership to advocate assigning business analyst to the project at the vey beginning during the development of the business case.
