I now enjoy practicing scales because every scale creates a certain mood, as well as every chord and chord progression. I often get inspiration to compose from these exercises.

Maybe it would be easy to understand if you explained where the scale comes from. There are 12 notes in western music A,a sharp,B, C,c sharp, D d sharp, E, F,f sharp, G, g sharp, What ever letter you start with is your Key, step, step half step, step, step step, Or Magic numbers 1,3,5,6,8,10,12. If you put the 12 notes on top of your white board first then bring down the key into 7 for major keys. The magic numbers are constant and easy to memorise. Love your Vidio's
