I have seizures that I just started to look at somthing for a long time like in 9th grade I was so scared after the seizure at cherry hill hihg school west. My mom holding my hand when it happened at my cherry hill 😢high school west.

why on earth should you wear gloves if touching the patient?!! its not like epilepsy is contagious! I had epilepsy before but I was never told that my friends who helped me should wear gloves! Its not needed!

It's to protect you from blood born pathogens if you are near blood from their mouth and any injuries they might have sustained from falling or seizing.

As Julia wrote above, it is to protect the rescuer or first responder from any blood born pathogens. For instance if the person having a seizure fell from a standing position, they may be bleeding and thus this poses a risk to the rescuer. It is a very important to wear gloves, if you have them, whenever performing first aid.

My daughter has drug resistant epilepsy with daily seizures and intellectual retardation since infancy. I have seen different types of seizures in her. I assume the video was made for educational purposes? A few tips: 1. The guy who shows a grand mal seizure needs to try harder to make it look really realistic; 2. During a convulsion, the patient must turn to the side so as not to inhale saliva or blood, which can only be done at the beginning of the seizure, before the tonic phase, because subsequently the patient tightens up a lot and this becomes almost impossible!; 3. During the seizure shouldn't it be put a fingerings in the mouth of the person who has fainted! His mouth turns blue because the root of the tongue obstructs the trachea and its head must be gently pulled back; 4. After the convulsion, the person is left again in a lateral position to rest. 5. If the person is known to have epilepsy, it is completely unnecessary to call 911 unless the seizure lasts more than 5 minutes or is followed by a second seizure. It is commendable that he is trying to educate the public, keep it up and good luck.

As the video says, please NEVER PUT ANYTHING IN SOMEONE'S MOUTH if they are having a seizure! Not only is it unnecessary, but it creates a choking hazard.
