According to the NWS, the hottest NYC has been so far this year was 87°F back in April. Climate wise, our first 90°F day is typically May 28th so we are running behind schedule. Our first 90°F day last year was on April 13th. We typically get one 90° day in May and three in June. But looks like that number is exploding next week lol So far NYC’s June temperature has averaged 72°F - 2.4°F warmer than the 1991-2020 average but only NYC’s 28th warmest June in the city’s 155 year climate record. If the 7 day forecast is correct, then NYC’s average June temperature would increase to 74.9°F making 2024 NYC’s 3rd hottest June on record.
