These have a bladder in them which is why you don't need to shake. I had an expired one in my truck and I shook it to try to see if it was OK heard the bladder flopping in there and thought it had solidified. Went ahead and just shot it on the ground to test it before disposal. It still worked despite being 4 years expired. I bought a new one for my truck to replace it.

These are a great option for me, because the fire extinguisher provided by the landlord is too heavy for me to lift. When the gentleman from the company that services them heard me tell the manager I couldn't lift it he was shocked, and said if she can't lift it how is she going to put out a fire! ! The manager was supposed to give me a lighter one, but none has ever been sent.

I keep a traditional extinguisher in the cars and garage, and one of these types in the kitchen, no matter how much the wife complained it takes up space. Period...end of story.

I had a bunch of these lying around all over - just checked the expiration date- 2012!! OMG!! I took one in the back yard and used it on a rag I set on fire and it did work but probably at % of normal effeciency. No information out there on how long they are still viable after the exp. date - I looked. I'm guessing they are still good maybe a year or two over the date. Anybody really know??

I had to run over to my neighbors house yesterday because they set their lawn on fire and I had to extinguish a large ring of fire that was spreading over a large part of their lawn. Of course, they didn’t have a hose out or a fire extinguisher of their own.

I have 2 of these in my kitchen and thankfully have never had to use them ! I didn’t realize they have an expiration date. Mine expired may 2019 ! Do you think they are still useable or should I throw them out ?

Expires in 4 yrs? Is this like canned food, where it REALLY lasts a lot longer, but they want you to REBUY it?

Yeah I suspect so, but I would hate for someone to have their house burn down because they had an old one and be like "Well this dude on youtube said it would be ok after it expired" haha if ya know what I mean

@@Iridium242 video idea, 5 years from now try it. See if it worked. Actually, I know SOME things with a liquid in them stay "fresher" if you give them a good shake once every 6 months to a year. So who knows....wouldn't hurt right?
