The onset of the First Arab-Israeli War was marked by the historic proclamation of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948. In response, a coalition of five Arab nations, comprising Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, launched a concerted invasion of the newly-formed state. The ensuing conflict was a gruelling test of endurance and determination. The War also resulted in the displacement of 700,000 Palestinians, known as ‘Nakba’ or ‘Destruction’ in the Arab World.
