Honestly sad that this game leaned more towards the SSBU playstyle. I was kinda hyped for the game and when i played it it felt so much slower paced that the first for some reason and the shields and grad make it so much eaisier to just say "nah" to a well spaced neutral win Not that any1 asked about my opionion but im just wondering if any1 else is feeling the same way, i definitely think ROA1 is better, i never liked SSBU anyways.

I agree shields are so strong in this game and tech chasing is a lot more prominent than I'd prefer, it also feels like the timing for parries is different than roa1? might just be me though

Sorry to be controversial, but there are a looooot of players who started dipping their toes in with SSBU, myself included. I LOVE that Rivals 2 feels like an evolution of that formula mixed with the personality and indie studio mindset of the original Rivals. I and many others shy away from Melee because of its speed, skill floor, horrendous balancing/character variety, etc. Every character in Rivals 2 has “the sauce,” and I feel like the future is super bright for this game. I just wish people would embrace it for what it is, rather than wasting energy wishing it was more like something that already exists.

Dude I swear this Loxodont player just shields and camp then spams grab, when that's not even Loxodont's main neutral tool, it's not even entertaining to watch, I wonder why he lost. That Orcane player actually has more variety in his gameplay.

To be fair, in the Lox/Cane matchup thats really all you can do. I'm a loxodont main and this is, for me at least, his most challenging matchup. If you don't just crowd him and shield grab then he kinda just way outspeeds you, you have to get him knocked down to get anything done. Boring to watch but unfortunately, at this point, the best option Lox has.

Because some people prefer to be referred to by singular they. Jules seems to be one of them, but commentators aren’t always provided with info on how players want to be referred to (when they do have that info, it tends to be on the stream display so chat can also refer to players properly). To play it safe in those instances, it’s usually good practice to use gender neutral language as to not potentially misrepresent someone with a marginalized identity and ostracize them from the scene. Edit: Someone else in the thread has said that Jules does prefer to go by singular they. I’ve updated my comment to reflect that.

@@EnbyVess You weren't replying to me, but personally, I don't really see how people that refer to themselves as "they/them" are in any way marginalized. A small percent of the population, sure, but I feel like people that have some sort of gender identity they defined themselves as are uplifted by society quite a bit, at least nowadays. I dunno, just feels weird when people say this cause people have started comparing gender identity to race, and it doesn't seem like it's in the same ballpark. I've been told I'm marginalized all my life because I'm black, even though I'm really not, and seeing people do this really feels like attention seeking. Really not trying to be rude, but I genuinely don't understand this.
