One of the greatest hits of the disco era, no doubt about that. And how nostalgic it is! If you like this tune, why don't you try listening to her song called By The Way Now(You're The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me)? I believe it was her follow-up to First, Be A Woman, and instead of a disco tune, it was a slow ballad. But it's an incredibly great song like you can't believe it. I may even call it the greatest ballad that never hit the chart! Please give it a listen, everybody! Thanks!!

Here's an interesting footnote: Lenore debuted around the same time as this amazing tidal wave of soulful blue-eyed disco singers were arriving like Karen Young (HOT SHOT,) Alicia Bridges (I LOVE THE NIGHT LIFE,) and Madleen Khan (ROUGH DIAMOND & LET'S MAKE LOVE.) The problem is it's a little known fact that Lenore didn't actually sing her own music; it was actually an uncredited black woman! Look it up. I saw her in her own video. The proof's here on the web. You won't find one clip of Lorraine singing live because she never did. Oddly enough another record company used a blonde white woman on Lorraine Johnson's album cover for her big hit FEED THE FLAME. For years I thought Lorraine was white. So much deception. The music is still all AMAZING though.
