Oh my goodness, those Alliums are awesome As a retired florist we would have been Gaa-Gaa over the size. Picture those 2 at the base with 3 bird of paradise as yours tall linear interest! Stunning👍

I have a tiny amount of crops. I look forward to my granddaughter coming and picking strawberries. We have wild strawberries mainly they're tiny but packed with flavour. Loved watching your children helping and being so happy. Lovely garden.

Sugar snap peas are one of my favorites too - mine are just about to flower and I can’t wait! Great looking garlic scapes - I always sauté a few of mine too - so delicious! If you have some that have gone too long, you can stick those in water and let the bulblets mature - they are really tasty.

Nice harvest of strawberries and peas. And I love the purple globe allium, I used to have some till they got pulled up by friends helping me weed! 🤷‍♀️ My strawberries are starting to set, and I think the peas are starting to sprout! I do look forward to a green and growing garden.

Those purple pea blossoms are lovely. I always wait a little too long to harvest my snow peas, and they get fat. ☺️ Maybe I'll do better next year. It would help if I didn't fall sick at that exact time. Great garlic scape harvest! I always used to dehydrate and powder mine. And yes, my ground cherries always volunteer all over - sort of like tomatillos and okra and borage and chamomile. 😁 Nice strawberry harvest! I've been eating mine every day as they ripen, too, but you're growing a ton. Excellent! 👍Looks like Strawberry Shortcake time to me! 🍓🍓🍓

Kim I think strawberry shortcake is a wonderful idea! We made some a few weeks ago, but I think it’s time for some more haha. That might have to be on our menu for tonight after dinner 😊. Our ground cherries are Pineapple Ground Cherries. I have a video on the channel from last summer where I made ground cherry preserves and it was so delicious! They are like a cross between pineapple and a cherry tomato. It is a very unique flavor. Best eaten when they are fully ripened and slightly soft. -Pineapple Ground Cherry

I am not sure I have an answer to that question just yet. It does seem like each of the varieties taste slightly different. I will have to give an update later on in the season. I might have to do a side by side taste test haha -Cara :)

What kind of strawberry plants do you have?

We currently have 3 different varieties : Earliglow (early season), Jewel (midseason), and Sparkle (mid-to-late season. 😊

How often do you remove weeds?

It varies. The first year I had a lot more weeds than I do now that the beds are a little bit more established. I would say during the summer months I weed every other week. I try to weed as I go though through the day if I pass by a weed I pull it as I am walking, so it is hard to give an exact amount. Using mulch (we use wood chips and shavings) defiantly helps reduce the weed pressure a lot!
