Bridgerton is based on a fiction novel but l am not sure about Cleopatra. What l know for sure is that Egyptians have for a long time trying to be disassociated with Africa and aggression towards Africans with darker skin. It is more prevalent in soccer matches with other African countries. l remember in my younger years they wanted to stand separately from the African continent. Tunisia is also another one that behaves like Egypt when it comes to associating with Africa. So anything blackish triggers the Egyptians the wrong way. l wouldn’t be surprised that there is some blackness in Cleopatra. l wonder if the casting of a black actor was done deliberately.
