A quick tip I use all the time that I forgot to mention in the Video: it should take you 4 moves for your first square otherwise it will probably be a sub optimal first block. you can go with 5 but only if you know that your last pair is good.

Great vid, and I really need to improve at blocks. Will you be making more Roux content ? Regarding your question at the end, I didn't think of it as 'jperm styled', but I thought it was just very well made. Now I know how long editing can take and maybe there is a compromise to strike between spending time on editing vs content, but presentation does make a difference. Another comment, I watched a few of your other vids and I think they are all well planned - i.e. it's always very clear what you are explaining and you are doing it in an order that makes sense - and that's even more important than the editing.

thanks, I'm glad you think so. One of the reasons I made this channel is because I didn't think popular youcubers did a good job of explaining some things. Also, I definitely will be making more roux content in the future as it is my main method now.

I currently struggle with the Last Tip: Focusing on First Block Ef(patience)cy I mean, majority of the advices I see is "Don't start moving until you can solve FB with your eyes closed." And that you have to take all the time you have to do it. So my question is this What's your average inspection time for the FB when you were starting out? (I'm not looking for a "general standard" but I need a point of reference).
@MOGCubing3 жыл бұрын
Honestly I don't know, because I didn't time my inspection. It was definitely over 15 seconds, and still is most of the time. What I did to practice planning the whole thing was just planning my square and predicting where my pair would end up and planning a solution for that second pair before starting the solve.

@@MOGCubing Thank you for the reply! I didn't really get an answer, but you did manage to help me find out how I'll decrease my inspection time (currently 3-5 mins). Background: I NEVER learned CFOP. I went Beginner -> Petrus (Casual Solving) -> Roux With that in mind, I have it easy planning the Square Block. But without F2L Knowledge, I tend to treat the Second Pair as part of planning the whole block instead of treating it as a "separate part" to be solved later. So, I think I'll only be inspecting up to the Square, solve it, and do Roux's version of the F2L Block... until I think I am ready to inspect both. Thanks again!

@@thesphyrth if you can't plan your first block then don't. Just plan a 2×2 block and try to have a rough idea where the pieces will be
@justaregularhumanbeing3 жыл бұрын
@@thesphyrth also you don't have to reduce your inspection time. Take as much time as you need!
@thesphyrth3 жыл бұрын
@@justaregularhumanbeing Thanks! When it comes to 2 Lines, I can plan that thing whole. When it comes to 2x2, I'll plan up to that, and I'm training currently to solve the "Roux F2L" case. BTW. What's the average time YOU spend when inspecting/planning (non-WCA of course)? When I said "reducing the time", I didn't mean "getting lazy with planning", but rather "getting more efficient at it... making the planning phase faster".

Nice video! Also do you still use CFOP?
@MOGCubing3 жыл бұрын
No, I'm faster with roux now than I was with CFOP when I switched, but I do it for fun occasionally!

@@MOGCubing Thanks for repling,from witch tutorial did you learn roux from?

@@lilyalagzouli5175 idk I learned it a while ago, but never really got into it until this fall. I think Kian's tutorials are pretty good. I found some of Kavin's content helpful, as well as Critical Cubing's.

I NEED HELP WITH BLOCK BUILDING.😅 that being said,your video is mostly useless for this. Every example you show STARTS with the block fully made!!! Then you do 2or3 twists, undo those twists, and call it a block! WOW. That won't help anyone. Maybe try a REAL scramble, and show the inspection in DETAIL what to look for AND why
@MOGCubing11 күн бұрын
I understand that you are looking for examples. I would check out ‘first block in inspection’ by tedious. Sorry that this video isn’t what you wanted. It is 5 tips not necessarily example solutions. I wanted this to showcase some good ideas to come up with better solutions.
