I cant believe I am actually unhauling books but I need more space and if I'm not going to re-read it or I didn't love the book then it has to go!

I love re-reading, so I keep the books I enjoyed. If I didn't like it or think I won't re-read it, then I give it away.

I ended up drowning in books so I decided to curate - especially after I moved and had to pack up over 1000 books, never again! So now when I read a book if I love it, it goes in my big bookcase. If I disliked it, it goes in the charity shop pile (and it takes me about 6 months between trips so time to rescue anything I change my mind on.) Looking through the shelves of books I enjoyed is nice. I can also see stronger patterns in what type of book I enjoy.

Please don't feel bad. Your life and priorities have changed. This is actually a really good way of discussing books you have read. Sometimes sadly we have to let go of books

I makes me feel sad that those books are gone and that time in the my life is gone too, I'm not young anymore lol. Especially if it's a book that I read 10 years ago it reminds me of the time in my life aswell lol

This is normal, Hannah, we all have to unhaul, unfortunately, we don't live in mansions 😀When my husband and I moved into our apartment, I collected all kinds of books - on the shelf in the library, under the bed, in boxes and everywhere else. After the first child, I reduced the constant buying a little. Now we are waiting for the second one and I have already distributed a large number - in the neighborhood library, to friends, at charity markets. I have left only the books that I really love and the ones that I want to read. As soon as I read a book, I know if I want to keep it or give it away. I also started using my Pocketbook reader more, I used to never get to it, maybe 20% of my read books were on it. In our country, books are quite expensive and there are no such charity shops where they are 1 pound or 2, even second hand is a big buy. My library is much more valuable to me now, and so is my reading time. Unhauling is not so bad. :)

That's what I want to get down to as you say keeping only the ones you really love. And YES to when you said your reading time is more valuable to you now so when I had my son last year I realised that I dont want to waste my time reading ok books I want to be more selective with what books I read as my time to read them has shortened. x

I recently myself did a unhaul mostly of books on by tbr trolley . About 10 books I either didn’t realise I already had ( Agatha Christie) or some that wernt my style genre anymore and I had to ask myself would I want to read this over another book I don’t even own but really want to read . Its tough but you feel lighter after 💕

As soon as I finish a book I decide wether to keep or unhaul (just based on if I would reread it or dip back into certain sections). If I run out of space, I look back over and be a bite more ruthless!
