Input: * When sparging - make sure the valve on the machine points straight left, so all sparge water is pumped over the grains. Shame if the sparge water is pumped 30% over the grain and 70% into the mash. * Always start with the overflow higher than you need it to be. It's easy to push down once you have grains in, but difficult to raise up * The bottom nut for fastening the overflow - if you put this on (but don't tighten), and rotate the laser filter, you can tighten it onto the mash basket, so it sandwiches the mash filter between the nut and the mash basket - effectively clamping the filter in place. This means you can take the overflow up and down easier; and also makes emptying the mash basket a lot easier, as the filter is clamped in place and doesn't come tumbling out

what was the SS ring in the bottom of the machine at 10.04 min - looks like it might keep the hops away from the elements - I have modified a hop basket and drilled a 13mm hole in the handle to slide it down the central pipe and it cant fall over, and keeps hop matter from the elements in the braumeister
@homebeerbrewery8 ай бұрын
It’s the Trubinator of Brewtools. Works well, especially with large quantities of hops during the boil and hop stand. During the whirlpool everything will swirl inside the filter. More clear wort to pump out is the result. Great to hear you created a solution for your BM, sounds good! Cheers 🍻
@halo70998 ай бұрын
Of misschien verschil qua efficientie.
@homebeerbrewery8 ай бұрын
Klopt, mee eens.

Nice video. I needed a few brews on my B40 until operating the valves was fluent. What was your mash efficiency?
@homebeerbrewery8 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind comment! The mash efficiency was about 80%. High in my opinion but I took all the time and had a very good grain crush. And all the grains are fresh, not old. Good to hear I am not the only one that needs to understand the valves, but it will be simple after knowing the system , it’s a learning curve. Cheers 🍻
@januszkszczotek85878 ай бұрын
@@homebeerbrewery Wow, 80% is huge. The best I got so far was 67%.

What can you say about the Brewmeister VS Brewtools after using both of them? (Regarding the kettles, not fermenters)
@homebeerbrewery6 ай бұрын
Brewtools is much more complex, more expensive vs Braumeister and in my opinion the way of mashing with the Braumeister is unique. A “set and forget” system you can walk away… Brewtools is very modular, you can setup and build the system like you like totally have, modification of a Braumeister is minimal. I brewed twice with the BT and looked forward to a brew day with the Braumeister again, with I did recently, video will be live in a couple of days grain to glass. I will make a comparison video soon. Cheers
@Kinamico6 ай бұрын
@homebeerbrewery Thank you for your reply. As a beginner , I went with the Brewmeister 50l first, as from what I've heard the Brewtools indeed has more flexibility but a little bit complicated at least for the beginner. But with the fermenters I've ordered brewtools F150 (3 pieces :)) Waiting for the comparison video, again thanks.

@hitrijezek3050 Hahahaha Indeed, but only one week? GO for it 🤞🏼and brew 🍺. Well, a Braumeister is outstanding good build quality , in MY opinion there is nothing on the market compared to a BM. Also the way the wort flows, Can’t go wrong. It’s a set and forget system if your grain crush is good. Enjoy the Braumeister! And succes with your wife 😆😅 Just tell her it’s my fault you need to purchase a BM 🤭 Cheers

Mooie setup hoor.
@homebeerbrewery8 ай бұрын
Dankje!

How much beer do you drink? I think 80L would last me more than 6 months, if I started drinking a bit more than I do now. How often do you plan to brew? Wouldn't it be cheaper to drink the best commercial craft beers in the world and save a lot of time? All that expense, effort and time, and cleaning, just for beer? I guess it can be more than just about the beer for some home brewers. I prefer making smaller batches (10L) more often to experiment and get more out of the hobby as well as variety of beer produced.
@homebeerbrewery8 ай бұрын
This system is flexible, you don’t have to brew 80 liters, also suitable for small batches. There are a million ways to brew beer, cheap and very expensive, I like to experiment and explore the market of these products. Even I started with a pot and an iglo cool box as a Mashtun, BIAB as well. Brewing is like having a car, any cheap car can get your from point A to B but if you can afford it is nice to do it in a Ferrari or Lamborghini. I will never consider to sell or quit brewing and start (only) purchase beer out of a store (I do but I brew beside it as well ) because it saves time and a lot of money. Every hobby comes with a price, my pockets are empty now but I don’t regret it 😊 Cheers
