Change your thermostat to something a little lower. i.e. If you have a 190f thermo, go to a 180f, a 200f go to a 190f. I guarantee it will solve the problem. The reason it's sitting at 210 is cause the thermostat is keeping it from dropping any lower.

Before you start freaking out about engine temps, check a few things: 1) Are the other people you're talking to using the same brand/model of sender and gauge? 2) Do the other people you're talking to have their temp sender in the same spot? 3) Did you double check the gauge reading with an infrared temp gun and/or a k-type thermocouple? There is also the possibility that running 20lbs of boost on a stock engine blew the head gasket. Test kits (like the one from Napa) can check for the presence of exhaust gases in the coolant. Places like Blackstone Labs can preform an oil analysis from a sample drawn off during an oil change. This will tell you a ton about how well the type of oil and filter you are using is working, as well as what (if any) contaminants may be present. It only costs about $25, too. Good luck, and cool project!

my brother has had problems with aftermarket alloy radiators with ford falcon twin fan setup in his 1j cressy. he ended up changing to a stock copper radiator with the twin fans and is all good now.

i had very similar cooling issues with my swapped gc8. i was using a stock na radiator. i was to the point i thought i had headgasket issues. i ended up replacing the rad with an aluminum dual core and fixed a slightly leaky expansion tank with a mishi replacement. lesson i learned: its a bitch to bleed, make sure you have ZERO LEAKS even pinhole will mess up the pressure effect. keep in mind the boiling point of coolant is higher under pressure... if it cant make proper pressure it will boil and overheat!

Same feeling every time i push the gas pedal , finished mine 2 weeks ago, i'm in-love. Thermostat im using Mishimoto MMTS-SUP-93T that opens early at 68c, im running 190-200f temp with dual flex-a-lite pusher fans (works better with pullers) with a HAYDEN 3647 relay ($20 rockauto), hope it helps.

Just something I remember from a friends truck build. The fan shrouds messed with his cooling. He never put them in, "race truck bro" and his truck never got proper cooling. We installed them and it helped alot. something to think about.

Just for now to help with cooling. put some washers on the four bolts that are on the hinges on the bonnet. It makes the bonnet sit on an angle higher towards the windscreen and allows the hot air to flow out easier. Coldair ram effect, cold air in the front and hot air flows out towards your windscreen as your driving....its an old street drifters mod....another thing whilst your beating on it turn on the heater also helps lower the heat....these are just bandaid fixes til you sort out better radiator/fan etc...

I would say to check the 1jz service manual specification for coolant system pressure and make sure the radiator has the correct psi cap. this could mean a difference in cooling ability if a systems cap releases ex: 16psi and the system is engineered for 14 psi then the incorrect pressure. more unnecesary pressure held than what is supposed to will cause overheat issue.
