First carnatic war 1740-48 It was an extension of war between Britishers and china due to Austrian war of accession. Britishers captured French ships to provoke French and French retaliated and capture madras then French fought with Anwar ud din at st thoms and won the war. In 1748 treaty of axe la chappile signed and Britishers got madras and ceded North American territory to French 2nd carnatic war 1749-54. French wanted to increase their political influence in southern india by interfering in native dynastic disputes. 3rd carnatic war 1758-63
