Was there ever a more fly girl group than First Choice? Their name was no lie, and Rochelle Fleming had the Voice of Life. This song is damn near half a century old, and it could still make the dearly departed rise from their graves to shake their asses. Soul Train in the Seventies is still something beautiful to behold.

Rochelle Fleming is my all time favourite vocalist, no one comes close to her. She hits all the notes with very little effort. Her voice is unique. It would be a dream come true to meet her and chat about her career. THE BEST EVER

I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a sucker for anything with a conga beat...Armed And Extremely Dangerous from disco girl group First Choice was an extremely danceable hit song back in its day...and still sounds just as good (if not better) 43 years later......

If I'm not mistaken, the congas were played by the LEGENDARY Larry Washington, who played on countless Philadelphia classics. (And if I'm wrong, shout out to Larry Washington in Heaven anyway because he deserves it!)

Fantastic! I moved to London from darkest deepest Northumberland in 74 and I was introduced to the sound of First Choice with this and The Player. The music is soulful and the harmonies spot on. I still put The Player album on at least once a month and do the housework to it. Hits the spot each time. Marvellous!

Yes! - It was a wonderful time filled with what felt like racial peace, every color was represented on the dance floor, it felt like a “love in”… Yes, there were lots of drugs, and we had our own issues, but the love of disco brought us together to release the tension of the day.

The energy and the drama was so awesome -- fun drama, not manufactured crap like we have today -- The moment you stepped into the club and heard this blaring you ran to the floor to rock out. The longer version of this includes a really good instrumental section!

When Leon Huff and Kenny Gamble left Motown as writers they wanted to create their own version of the gold standard of Diana Ross & The Supremes. They produced for First Choice and The Three Degrees. All these females put in their talent and work with phenomenal art.

I first heard this at the Deja Vu in Indianapolis in around 1971. I didn't know how to dance yet, was about 20, but the other dancers, a great mix of black men and women plus some white gay college boys like me, welcomed me, taught me how to move on the floor, and I was hooked on disco before it was even a national craze in the mid to late '70s. My favorite cutes included this one, "Love's Theme", Teddy Pendergrass's "Bad Luck" and "I Don't Love You Anymore", "I Like What I Like", "Shining Star", Barry White tracks, and Eddie Kendrick's "Girl, You Need a Change of Mind". The music was blazing! This group did a REALLY HOT version of Al Green's "Love and Happiness".
