these christians are Eastern rite ones and are currently living in Kerala called Nasranis/st thomas christians of kerala. All Christians in Tamil nadu is western rite Protestant and latin catholics that came after colonisation. And this area Kanyakumari was actually part of travancore empire that ruled half of present kerala.

1912 is not the year of formation of Malankara Orthodox Church. 1912 is just the year of establishment of Catholicate in Malankara Orthodox Church. Formation of Malankara Orthodox Church was in A.D 52 by Mar Thoma Sleeha (St. Thomas Apostle - one among the twelve desciples of Jesus Christ). Both Church of the East & Malankara Orthodox Church was formed by Mar Thoma Sleeha. Church of the East was formed by Mar Thoma Sleeha at Chaldea (ancient name of Edessa) in A.D. 33 in ancient Persia . Malankara Orthodox Church was formed by Mar Thoma Sleeha in A.D. 52 at Maliankara in the northern side of Kodungalloor in Malankara (ancient name of the region from present Kerala to Thiruvithamcode of Tamil Nadu.) & esttablished seven & a half churches by converting Nambuthiri, Potti & Ayyankar Brahmins from Maliankara to Thiruvithamcode. Actually Mar Thoma Sleeha established eight churches but the eighth one, - known as Thomayar Kovil (officially St. Mary's Orthodox Church) or Arachappalli is called Arappalli not only because it is the contracted form of 'Archappalli" but also because the church is just half the height of a usual church & its doors are not high as the construction couldn't be completed as it was desired by Mar Thoma Sleeha because before its completion he got murdered by a religious terrorist. Soon after the formation in A.D. 52 till the end of second century, Malankara Orthodox got spiritually connected with Coptic Orthodox Church, & used the Indian regional language translations of liturgy of that Church. In A.D 201 (3rd century), Church of the East Metropolitans (the first Christian migrants of India) reached Malankara, engaged in spiritual friendship with Malankara Orthodox Church, lead Holy Sacraments & gifted East Syriac liturgy. Malankara Orthodox Church was thus renamed as Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church of the East. In A.D. 345, due to war in Upper Messappotamia, Jewish Christian merchant cum Bishop Thomas of Cana (Knayi Thomman) led a group of 72 Jewish-Christian immigrant families, a bishop named Uraha Mar Yausef, and clergymen from the Middle East to settle in the Southern Side of Kodungalloor. As they arrived in Southern side, they are called Southists or Thekkumbhagakkar & as they came with Knayi Thomman, they are called Knanayakkar. Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church & Church of the East Metrapolitans in Malankara welcomed them whole heartedly. The Eastern Syriac Liturgy got burned in 16th century by the cruel Catholic Latin Missionaries who came from Portugal. Catholic Latin Missionaries psychologically harassed Church of the East Metrapolitans & forced them to return to Chaldea & stopped the arrival of new Church of the East Metrapolitans to India. Later, in 1661 Parambil Palliveettil Chandy Kathanar (who was the cousin of Mar Thoma First - the native Arkdeakon (Arch Deacon) the then head of Malankara Orthodox Church) along with many almayas left Malankara Church, became Catholic & established a Sui Iuriis category Catholic Church titled Syrian Catholic & colloquially known as Roman Catholic Syrian Church (renamed as Syro Malabar Catholic Church in 1932 by Pope of Rome). In 1663 Pope of Rome Concecrated Parambil Palliveettil Chandy Kathanar as a Bishop with the Latin name Alexis de Campo - short form of the name Alexander de Campo (Campo means Parambil) in rebel to his cousin Arkdeakon (Archdeacon) Mar Thoma First - the head of Malankara Orthodox Church. In the absence of Eastern Syriac Liturgy that was burnt by Catholic Missionaries, Syro Malabar Catholic Church used Latin Liturgy of Church of Rome from 1661 to 1873. After the fall of Portugueese overrule, in 1874 Mar Elia Melus from Church of the East arrived in Malankara. By him Syro Malabar Catholic Church who used Latin from 1661 to 1873, tactfully translated the Catholic Latin Liturgy to Eastern Syriac. On the other hand, in 1665, poor Malankara Orthodox Church who didn't join any other faith was forced by Patriarch of Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch to use Western Syriac, telling that both Eastern & Western Syriac are the same & there's only pronunciation difference (but actually the Patriarch aimed at ruling Malankara which the Church understood later only). This tactful translation of Catholic Latin liturgy to Eastern Syriac paved way for their flase claim that they are the original Mar Thoma Nazranees of India as they use Eastern Syriac & Malankara Orthodox Church is using Western Syriac & therefore they are split from Jacobites. Actually Jacobite (Yakkobaya) was just a mocking name which Catholics used for those Malankara Orthodox people who did intercession prayer to Yakkob Burdana who was a saint of Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch. Later, when Patriarch of Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch started falsely claiming supremacy over Malankara Orthodox Church. At that stage, inorder to avoid a further split within the people & formation of a Church of other faith (like the Syro Malabar Catholic Church in 1661), in the year 1958, Malankara Matroplitan honoured the Antiochian Saint Yakkob Burdana (Jacob Baradaeus) by adding the name Jacobite to the the title Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, thereby renaming it as Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church. That's how, SSLC book of Malankara Orthodox Church people from 1958 to 1970 have caste name written as Jacobite. In 1970 Patriarch of Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch came up with the false claim that St. Thomas doesn't have the divine right to concecrate someone as priest, there is no throne for St. Thomas. This created two groups within the Church namely: Bava party (supporters of Patriarch of Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch) & Metran Kakshi (supporters of Malankara Metrapolitan - Catholicose of the East). The Patriarch filed a case in Supreme Court demanding the need for complete supremacy over the Church, however Court denied all his arguments & ordered that the Syriac Orthodox Church which Patriarch of Antioch have supremacy is Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch in the West formed by St. Peter & not Mlankara Orthodox Syrian Church formed by St. Thomas in the East, Patriarch of Antioch have neither Spiritual nor Temporal Supremacy over Malankara Orthodox Church & the Court declared that Malankara Orthodox Church should retain its former & original official name that is Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. In 2002, Patriarch of Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch filed another case demanding the same needs as before but without effect. Court ordered that there should not be anymore internal groups in the Church, the present internal groups: Bava Kakshi & Metran Kakshi should unite at Parumala, participate in Malankara Syrian Association to elect the next Malankara Metrapolitan & thereby become one under the Malankara Metrapolitan. However, the Bava Kakshi who extremely brainwashed by the Patriarch, didn't obey the Supreme Court order; they didn't participate in Malankara Association, went to Puthenkurish & formed a Church with the name Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church under Societies Act. By telling the name of this newly formed Church Patriarch fraction forcefully took away many churches of Malankara Orthodox. In 2017, inorder to get the rest of the churches of Malankara Orthodox, Patriarch fraction filed a case in Supreme Court of India by telling that Malankara Orthodox Sabha took away the churches of Jacobite Sabha. However, on July 3rd 2017, Supreme Court declared that the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church formed in Puthenkurish by Societies Act is illegal & ordered the Patriarch fraction to return all the churches of Malankara Orthodox & the Court also declared that Parallel administration is not allowed in Malankara.
