I don't know if you were aware but the facade of Lille Flandres is in fact the original facade of the Gare du Nord in Paris, dating from the 1840s. It was dismantled and shipped to Lille in the 1860s when the Gare du Nord was being expanded (as it has been almost permanently ever since...I doubt it'll ever be big enough for what it's expected to handle!!).

Yesiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! A TGV! THE TGV ! The best train in the world. It represents happiness for me. I love all TGVs. My favorite lines are those of happiness, Marseille / Disneyland TGV and Marseille / Paris. A happiness, an intense joy seizes me as soon as I take a TGV, any one. It's my favorite train in the world. I love all the TGVs: Ouigo, which we take very frequently on the lines of happiness, Inoui also on the lines of happiness and all the others. It's splendid. It is happiness for me. Your video represents happiness. Needless to say, this is my favorite video on your channel. Thanks to you, nonstop eurotrip, for making me cry. I'm very emotive. I am happy.

I think the train you got (1st generation TGV Duplex) must be my favourite currently still in service! Also note that although the Paris Metro 4 and 5 trains stop at Gare du Nord, they don't count in the passenger figures, even more impressive since the 4 train is Paris's busiest! As always excellent video :)

In 2012 we took the TGV to Calais for the ferry to the UK and returned on Eurostar. Both great trips, but the best thing was the old indicator board at Gare du Nord. When we came back to Europe in 2017, sadly it was gone, but we still managed some great trips on classic TGV's plus new Duplex. Can't wait to be able to travel again.

Great video! TGV Duplex is one of the trains I have on my bucket list, I hope to finally try TGV this year :-D Otherwise, I see that you still have a lot of videos taken in good times. I already used almost all my backlog videos. Btw. can I choose to have a solo seat on the upper deck on TGV Duplex when booking, or does the system assign seats automatically?

Upper deck best? Hmmmm ... I usually go for lower deck as there are no people wandering through going to the café/bar or WC. (I used to wonder why the "corridor" was on the upper deck until one day it dawned on me, waiting for a late train to Montparnasse from St Jean de Luz looking at one on the other platform going to to Hendaye, that the wheels would be in the way on the .lower decks.)

Great video! Good work. I was lucky to have an upperdeck seat on the TGV Lille Flandres - Bordeaux Saint Jean as part of a roundtrip through France by TGV years ago. The best part on that trip though was having a TGV PSE-trainset on the leg Toulouse Matabiau - Lyon Part Dieu. Like you said, SNCF sometimes has crazy good offers and a first class seat was only € 10 more expensive compared to a second class seat.
