First Class High Speed Train Across Poland | Pendolino Krakow To Gdansk

I took a last-minute trip on the Pendolino fast train from Krakow to Gdansk via Warsaw. The train can reach upwards of 300 km/ph in the right conditions. Poland travel got a whole lot easier with the Pendolino and travelling Poland by train is a great overall experience.
Operating at a speed of up to 200 km/ph, I reached Gdansk in approx. 5 hours. The 1st class train was impressive as you can see in my video.

Love the respect you have for other passengers, 0 talking on board just subtitles. 5h Kraków>Warsaw>Gdynia is pretty great, remember traveling normal train from Wroclaw to Lublin in 6-7 hours

I can't get over how "funky" Scottish accent is. When I heard it for the 1st time I was like is it some Balkan accent? So different from English accents but still pretty

Thanks for this I’m off in two weeks to do the high speed Warsaw,Malbork, Gdańsk. Used to go to Poland for steam locomotives out of Poznan. Last time I was there got stuck in Gdańsk because of that Icelandic volcano 2010. Out with Ryanair back with PKP,DB,Thalys,Eurostar!

I'll be there at some point in the next month visiting friends, so I'll try and arrange a trip on one and make a vid about it. Yeah, I remember the Icelandic volcano! That 20min delay is nothing. I remember in the 90s travel from Krakow to Gdansk was taking 11 hours and it was normal average time.

The depot there based in you probably have checked is WOLSTYN the reason their still going was a British guy Howard Jones lived out there and kept them going, got an MBE for Polish British friendship and is even in one of Michael Portillo's programmes

3:27 don't want to be the obligatory geek in the audience, but there's a place where this train could go 300 and faster, but this requires am update to the electric system - to make it the same as in the UK or France (25kV). There is little little politicsl will to spend billions on cutting the travel by, say, 20 minutes.

Haha not at all, good to know! Yeah, that's understandable if it's just for a 20 minute difference 4 hrs 50 mins Krakow to Gdańsk is still an excellent time. Maybe in the future they will upgrade

Well, actually this train vmax is 250kph, not 300 lol. And it will be going 250kph until next year at Warsaw-Krakow line.

I’m from Poland, if it weren’t for the eu money the train service would’ve collapsed as everything was invested into roads. It’s not the fastest train in the world but it’s cheap ($10 advance ticket with student discount) and more comfortable than driving

Yeah, it was quite expensive but I booked the night before, so prob cheaper if you book ahead

Just checked a connection from Napoli to Milano for tomorrow - it takes around 5h as well and costs 99.9€ so not really 25 lol
