There's confusion as to the point of the spelling and pronunciation. The spoken word came before the written word. The pronunciation would be "Rbat" but most westerners cannot pronounce that. A French speaker would spell it as "Ribat", an Arabic speaker would spell "Rbat", but for any English speaker it would be "Rabat". Each of these tongues would sound the same but the spelling would differ. That's why on the map it is spelled as Rabat.

It's a bit hard to understand the public transports in a new city in morocco especially the cities that don't have a tram that's why generally it is better to take taxis that are close to the train stations (though some are expensive) at least in your first time in the city or if you know a local then it's better since they can tell you which bus or which way is the best to go to your destination. Google Maps isn't always reliable in most cities to tell you what bus to choose at least from what I remember last time I went there

If I’m not mistaken, there’s a city close to Tangier that is officially Spain so you would have to cross the border and can go back and forth in one day. I’ve seen videos and on the other side it looks pretty much identical to Spain. Locals on the Moroccan side that comes from that small region are also allowed to pass through freely from what I understand but for limited time (perhaps a day I think)?

Illegal? really? And who enforces these laws? No one!!! one time I was trying to hail down a taxi, he didn't stop for me but stopped for a cop that came after me. If the cop had any decency in him (which most don't), he could've let me have it first, but of course, he took it and left and I'm a female. So do not talk about laws in Morocco. There are lots on paper and no one enforces them, just like women's rights, children's rights, animal rights etc.. Btw I'm Moroccan, I know what I'm talking about. Morocco is the true definition of a police state. No one respects laws, unless they are dealing with authority. If the government truly cared about its citizens, they wouldn't have ousted Uber and Kareem.

@@cestbonbon5961 Chill out 😂 Taxi drivers can deny who they want, it’s not illegal. However they don’t do it on purpose. There are many reasons why a taxi won’t pick you up: -Some places in cities taxi drivers are not allowed to stop to pick up passengers because there is too much traffic -they can’t pick you up because small taxi’s are only allowed to take 3 people with them -they are on a break or not working that day -they could be driving to a whole other part of the city from where you need to be
