First Class on ScotRail eXpress Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow Queen Street

Today we are going from Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow Queen Street
Traveling on ScotRail eXpress Class 385

We are traveling first class on Scotrail trains
For 1st class the ticket was quite cheap to get cheap train tickets i only book single tickets and not returns as it sometimes works out cheaper
These Scot Rail Trains are really good and there Train Timetable is quite frequent

First Class on the 385s is certainly an upgrade from Standard (which is not exactly comfortable), but it isn't as cosy as First Class on a Class 158 or 170 and is nowhere near as plush as first class on an HST. It makes sense for businessmen commuting or travelling between the two cities, and is comparable to First Class on some London commuter trains, but it's not the height of luxury.

@@reb0118 Same for me, I have a couople questions: Does it make sense to buy tickets weeks in advance? All videos I've seen show nearly empty trains with lots of seats. Also, so no one checks first class tickets and anyone can walk to first class? Guess it doesn't make sense to get a first class ticket for such a short trip

Good video, nice to see my local route featured. Just 1 or 2 small issues 1. Unit no cannot be as stated as 3850s are 3 coach trains with no 1st class. 1st class are in the 3851 series of trains which have 4 coaches. The reason 1st class would be in the middle is due to 2 units coupled together. 2. Linlithgow is spelt as this. 3. Scotrail does not have 54 HSTs. Remember each HST runs with 2 power cars, so a lot less full trains. Sorry if it seems I am criticising but I really enjoyed the video. I would not pay the extra for 1st class on this route and I have got to agree that it is so annoying people just sitting in 1st without the correct ticket, very often not moved because no ticket check. Keep up the great videos

Your right, the problem I had was I forgot to take a shot of the front of the train I travelled on, the train I took the picture off came in just before my train. being a 385 class I assumed they all had the same spec. I think the number was either 385104 or 105 which is why 1st class was in the middle of the train, as it was 2 trains connected, as it's normally to the front or rear but people were passing through. And yeah I had to check but I forgot to put the W on the end on Linlithgow, sorry about that. Scotrail do have 54 class 43 units, i should of said units rather than HST trains i can see the confusion. But thanks for the comments much appreciated, I'm still getting used to this vloging of trains and making mistakes along the way, so thanks for the feed back.

It is SUCH A SHAME that the UK railways are SO INSANELY EXPENSIVE to use - any class anywhere. My full family just loves trains, but we are only using buses OR OUR OWN CARS! Such a shame. But thank you for the excellent video! Appreciated.

There was no catering on the train at all, not even a trolley service

I am heading to Edinburgh from Sheffield I have the choice of 2 companies LNER or Cross Country out of the two which one is the best service I rarely use trains

How long is journey and is it expensive

It took 52 minutes and cost me £19.80 at the time I went this was a first class ticket as well, it could be more now with things being more expensive, just a single ticket, not a return
