Casey a super simple way to stop the headphone jack from breaking in your bag is just to unplug it when you put it in. That way it doesnt stick out :^> LIKE SO HE CAN SEE

you can use a 90 degree jack. its also a good idea to secure the cable at a point before the jack, so if you accidently pull on the cable the tension and pressure goes to the point where the cable is secured instead of at the point of where the cable goes into the input.

Microphone gain structure often has to do with the impedance of the mic and the settings. Some mics are more sensitive and so what works for one mic does not work for another. Digital clipping/distortion is just a matter of gain structure and appropriate headroom. In order to change mics it is simple to just check the input settings and sensitivity by monitoring the input ballistics on the meter. Easy peasy, good luck and thanks for the Vids!

Casey! Try grabbing some wiring heatshrink for your camera cable issue. They have some pretty heavy duty ones for power lines that you can put on your cable, heat it up with a heatgun (might have to use a torch for larger heatshrinks) and it will add basically a little plastic tube that will keep your cables from bending too much. I do this for my macbook and iphone chargers since they are infamous for bending and ripping the same exact way.
