Clean, comfortable, tea, good meal service, clean toilets, good bedding, even TV! I am amazed. The people are so friendly and well disciplined and I aim to visit Iran next year. Great landscapes.

Now this is what i call First Class that too in Iran. Clean compartments, Amenities like Video screens, Irani Chai etc. gives a very niche feeling. The seating is also amazing with inbuilt slid able tables for eating meals I mean this is just amazing. Agreed in India we have first classes on Rajdhanis, Shatabdis etc.but they are no where near to comfort and service level in this first class in Iran. Please visit India in future and have a great time.

Being Pakistani I feel jealous (in a good way though) that our neighbour on West and North (Iran and China) are so developed and clean. I wish we can learn from them and bring this kind of discipline and cleanness to our Indo/Pak region (both countries have either a lot of population or don't care about keeping surroundings clean). Enjoyed it thoroughly !

I traveled on this route in 1960. It was not first class rather third or lower class. I was with a contingent of boy scouts. We travelled from Mashhad to Tehran. Even then their trains were more advanced.
