First Class Train Ride London - Cambridge, Abellio Greater Anglia

Travelling in an empty and comfortable First Class cabin from London Liverpool Street to Cambridge; the service was operated by Abellio Greater Anglia, which used a Class 379 Electrostar train (379-013); the train calls at Tottenham Hale, Cheshunt, Broxbourne, Harlow Town, Bishops Stortford, Audley End and Whittlesford Parkway

Since Greater Anglia upgraded their trains to Stadler sets during 2019/2020, they stopped offering first class on the West Anglia Mainline between London and Cambridge, which was done to increase passenger capacity during peak hours, with First Class on GA being limited to the Great Eastern mainline service between London and Norwich. Other than that, I find it quite interesting to see the First Class service back at a time when Greater Anglia had older trains and to see how comfortable the trains were.

I do actually happen to remember catching that train in peek hours, it was indeed a pain in the butt. Nonetheless Sometimes I managed to afford to get a first class ticket so i could get an empty seat on an overcrowded train for my long journey to Cambridge. From kings cross the express train takes apx 55 min whereas from Liverpool street it takes about 1 hour 30 mins. Greetings from Bogotá, Colombia

If only Greater Anglia would have kept the Class 379s and Bombardier (now Alstom) could have built more Class 379s that would be ideal for Southend Victoria line, Great Eastern main line and across much of Essex.
