Fliegender Hamburger In 1933 the first German streamlined diesel trainset ran between Berlin and Hamburg: the SVT 877, nicknamed the Flying Hamburger. It was the fastest train service in the world. The 286 kilometers were covered in 138 minutes. The average speed of 124 km/h was only equaled on this route in 1997 by the ICE. The lightweight diesel-electric train set was built by WUMAG after elaborate wind tunnel testing. Both railcars had a Maybach diesel engine, a generator and an electric motor. Hello. I am Japanese and live in a city where the Tokaido Shinkansen (the world's first high-speed train) runs through. It is not that I dislike the Shinkansen, and when I travel on it, I am amazed at how comfortable it is, but I am always envious when I see the diversity of high-speed trains in Europe. For example, the sight of high-speed cars and regular cars side by side, which is not uncommon in Europe, can only be seen on limited sections of the Mini-shinkansen (ミニ新幹線) system in Japan. In other sections, station buildings and platforms are separated from the existing railroad, which is unnatural and lacks a sense of unity. I believe that Japan has much to learn from Europe.

Hello i am from Germany. The fastest Train from Europe Is The TGV Sud-Est .He's Record Is 574,8 KM/H🎉🎉🎉😮😮😮
@saulschlapik681811 ай бұрын
The reason the Shinkansen is separate from other JR trains is because of the different track gauges. The Shinkansen is Standard gauge, 1435mm, and the rest of JR is 1067mm. In Europe, high speed trains can run on classic tracks because they are both Standard gauge, except for Spain. I understand your point about lack of variety on the Tokaido line, only 700 & N700. There is much better variety on the Tohoku & Joetsu lines north of Tokyo. One advantage Europe has over Japanese & Chinese high speed trains is that 2nd class has 2+2 seating instead of 2+3. As an American, I take a lot of vacations overseas because Amtrak is so pathetic and Japan is my favorite. I love the variety of Limited Express and other "conventional" trains. I'm hoping to come back in the next couple or few years.
@joestrainworldvideos397711 ай бұрын
Hi. Everyone has his advantage. When you have only high speed running for itself then you can run them punctual. This is not the case in Germany. They have often delays and even long ones. Not only for 2 minutes but 30 or more. Because of running in many streaches freight, reagional and high speed on the same tracks.

@@Hugo-ul9ou People do at times prefer trains. More relaxing, more space. more comfortable. Also you actually get to see the country too, and with the distances involved you can actually get to a destination just as easily. I think America really should look at it's public transport infrastructure. So much space to construct a HST of their own, that could be potentially one of the best in the world. East to West coast is 3 days at present, but taken as part of a holiday it would be worth it, assuming you're not limited by time. I've flown across America a few times and also have done stopovers too. Handy if you're constrained by time, but with a country the size of the USA a coast to coast train trip would be great, even if it was 3 days. China have a train that does 350km/h (217mph) and a maglev train that does 460 km/h (2586 mph) but has been clocked at higher speeds (501km/h = 311 mph)

what's your favorite train in terms of design? for me i think it's the Shinkansen 500, the shape of it looks so futuristic, and it came out in the 90's. to be specific, i like the 500 Series Eva, because it has a really cool livery

You are refearing at spain? In spain, some normal trains can go very fast in normal tracks, and are considered High speed, because this video is NOT HIgh speed train type, it is of trains that go fast (I will fix that error maybe)

But soon we are also bringing Japanese E5 shinkansen trains to India and the project name is NHSRCL( National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited). These trains will run between 2 cities of India which are Ahmedabad and Mumbai. This corridor will have a top speed of 320 kmph (well they can go 350kmph but for safety they are limiting speed to 320 kmph) This project consists of 465 km track route
