Me too Joyce, I never get tired of looking at crabs!!!!!🦀🦀🦀 Or catching, cleaning, eating, drawing or painting! But especially EATING! I used a few of your recipes, your crab cakes are amazing. I’ve also tried your baked with butter and all those seasonings and also with the marinara sauce. My favorite way to eat them is Cajun boiled, but I do love them pot-fried with onions as my favorite 2nd best way . I was wondering if either of you have ever tried them this way(pot-fried) before? Loved y’all video again, thanks for sharing with us🤗😘

Looking good, as usual. I just read earlier this evening that the South Carolina Dept of Natural Resources is holding 3 public meetings next week to discuss the dwindling number of blue crabs along the Coast and considering changes in the commercial and recreational crab laws to address that. They say that the lack of rainfall and other "climate changes" have affected the crab numbers and breeding along the Coast from South Carolina to down in Florida. Glad to see y'all getting some nice ones!
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors Жыл бұрын
The crabbing hasn't changed here. What they don't realize is your dealing with nature and crab and fish run in cycles, sometimes for years a species will be almost gone then for some reason they'll be back strong I've seen it several times when I commercially fished years ago. But they try to fix it with laws but you can't beat nature. They try to blame it on climate change but usually it's pollution or a natural cycle that lasts for years. Thanks for Watching

Fantastic video. Love crab. We in South Australia have a similar crab called blue swimmer crab. A much vibrant blue colour. Also one of the best eating. We also put them to sleep in ice water before cooking. Love your work. Well done 🦀 👌
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I'll have to look that crab up. For over 50 years we would just put the crabs in the pot alive so did everyone else but times have changed I think we'll put them on ice for now on when we cook them whole like you said, we usually make them lethargic before we clean them anyway. Thanks for Watching
@scale2tail Жыл бұрын
@TheOldCoupleOutdoors they will still be alive but just sleeping. Yes, you are right. Back in the day, we didn't have social media, so it wasn't on camera for everyone to see. Yes, the blue swimmer crab here. You can use a rake and just walk out with a float and rake them out of the sand. Have big boil ups on camp grounds or on the beach.
@MeMyselfandI-hr6bu Жыл бұрын
I live on the florida coast and my husband and I go crabbing every weekend and we also put ours on ice, then clean, then cook. Watching live crabs being boiled alive really bothered me, I feel it's cruel when they can be killed in a more humane way. I feel it's our duty to respect life as much as possible when we can, and since we are ending their lives it should be in the least painful way if possible.@@scale2tail
