I was born with a cleft lip and palate (if you are unsure of what that is, head over to the CLAPA website for more information) and because of this I had to have multiple operations throughout my life. When I was 6 months old I was even diagnosed with PTSD because of the amount of operations I had over such the brief period of my life. Last Christmas (I was 19), I had one of my final operations to fix my jaw alignment. It was massive and serious operation. I couldn’t eat properly for about 2 months (I had to miss out on Christmas Dinner!). My body confidence has also been super low and was even worse then because of how much swelling I had. I dyed my hair purple and once the swelling had gone down; I was the most confident I have ever been. That operation was the switch up that has changed my life completely

Also remember to be proud of yourself, and not only critical after doing something new! Ive switched up how i learn so instead of me staying on at college for another year and sitting at a desk writing 5 days away i decided to go and do an internship that is more practical based and so far im loving it, it was a big change for me since i was so comfortable being at college and made me make some new mates and learn more about the working world :) loved this video so inspiring and exciting to see everything you are up too 💕

I recently switched my major. I was a psychology major and while I loved that I took a class that made me realize I had given up on my childhood dream and real passion. As scary as it was to start over 2 years into a program I took the leap and now I'm a zoology major. I have started a new career path. I used to work in a cafe serving teas coffees and ice cream, but now I am a carer for elderly people with dementia. I absolutely love it and has given me a new outlook on life! My residents are amazing and fascinating people who have truly interesting and wonderful stories I could listen to them all day long. By no means is it an easy job working with people who have dementia they often get confused or violent but I wouldn't change it for anything right now. I love to help others and this job seems perfect for me right now. Since starting I've felt happier in myself 😊 Ps. Dianne I love your videos and your personality and your energy! Just over 12 months ago i became ill leading to me becoming disabled which meant giving up a 30years career as a nurse. As well as affecting me physically it also affected me massively psychologically. With support and love of my family and friends i started to overcome the negative feelings that hung over me on a daily basis and the future seemed less bleak. Also with more spare time I was able to return to the hobby of crafting which I loved in the past but had given up as I no longer had time to do any. Through facebook/online crafting groups I have made some good friends with like minded people xx
