That way i can clean up my scalp and also give my hair time to regrow some as when you enlist, rumor has it, even if you already have your hair cut, they cut it anyway and if they dont, they single you out soo yeah.. giving myself some breathing room. (For those curious im working on getting my GED then ill be enlisting for Army National Guard.)

They definitely yelled at reception. Every time we were waiting somewhere we had to have our nose in the little green book of common soldiers tasks. If you looked up or around you were given a Not so gentle reminder to keep reading. That place was where we learned our first lesson about being in the army „hurry up and wait“. We moved everywhere quickly and with purpose only to wait and wait at each station. Lol. Carefully fitted boots? A line of us stood on a Board, heels to the back with size and width markings. The supply guy was grabbing boots and tossing them at us as fast as we got our feet in the stencil. We put our feet in the boots and got about a half second to say if we thought they fit correctly before being told to move out and lace them up back in line. Lol.

Because this is just the initial entry before basic training. They probably haven't slept in the 48 hours since they left their parent's house, and are just getting their uniform, signing paperwork, etc. In the next day or two, they'll jump into meeting their drill sergeants and off it goes. There will be plenty of screaming...and crying. lol

You have to pay for your first haircut. The Army and Air Force Exchange Service makes bank on you your first few days. You are told by your recruiter do not bring any personal hygiene items so you have to buy everything...........soap, toothpaste, a comb which is useless with a shaved head. I thought my first end of month pay was my weekly pay. Nope its for the whole month there were so many deductions it was total BS. I did go on to spend 21 years in the U.S. Army but that first week at reception was a total cluster fu&&^ck.

It's literally the exact same. They go through the same training, they stay in the same barracks (on a different floor from the males) and they do the same PT.
