I attended De Anza from 2014-2019, then transferred to Arizona State University. Graduated in December of 2021, now working in Seattle :) I'm actually visiting San Jose on the 24th for 2 weeks. If I have time, I would love to see the campus to relive nostalgia!

Good morning Jeiner. Aiman from Malaysia here. We will be sending our son to DACC around June 2023 and would appreciate if you could tell us how much are you renting now, and I assume for 1 room. Please provide us with the range from lowest to highest if we were to rent for 1 room from a 3 room apartment. I presume that the rental cost for apartment near Home Depot is expensive. There are 3/4 apartments in that vicinity.Could you find out about this too. TQ in advance and hope you excel in your present program.

if I take the associate degree of biological science course and after finishing it in college, can I directly apply to the medical school in state or do I need to take the bachelor degree of biological science to get into medical school?

There are a few basic requirements which one has to fulfill to secure admission in medical schools in the USA. One of them is to get a bachelors degree in any field you’re interested in. It can be an Arts degree, or a Computer Science degree. But be aware that you also need 1 year of Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physics too. Hope that helps.

There’s a South Asian Club at De Anza. Besides it, there’s a ton of Indian students that attend De Anza so you’ll have the opportunity to make new friends.

I would suggest you to sign a lease with the ISP Homestay Program for about 1 quarter (3 months) and after you get here you can look for apartments and/or roommates to get a cheaper option. If you want to continue living there well and good but if not, you could go and look at places and decide on what to do next.

The average rent is around $1500 per month excluding utilities. Every apartment or society has a difference depending on location and tenants allowed.

There is a yearly estimate stated on the website where you apply. Break this fee up into 3-4 parts as there De Anza is on a quarter system hence you pay your tuition every quarter (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer). There’s a deadline for international students. It’s usually the 2nd Friday of the quarter.
