I watch a few different farmers on KZbin. Your planters are unique

Yea they’re definitely different than most planters but this is the only style that works to plant peanuts

You could add a rate controller to what you have for not a whole lot more. Looks like you’re running a 12v pump setup. Rough numbers. John Deere rate controller $1500 a micro trak 12v pump controller $600 then some sort of flow meter $700-$1500 depending on what kind then I always build my own harnesses. Don’t know how to get ahold of you if you need any help with it but I don’t mind. I’m a fellow farmer from Oklahoma.

I do have an email in my bio or even just through Instagram. But I dunno how much we’re willing to spend at the moment but it is something we’re looking into for future planting

Looks like you are having fun! How much firstup to the acre? How much hydrahume to acre? Do you put this on cotton too?
@conleybanman8 ай бұрын
One bag for 10 acres. And we do about 5lb. An acre with hydrahume and yes we’ll sometimes put it on cotton too. It has iron in it and helps the peanuts from yellowing

Conley, thanks for another excellent video. What is the name brand of those chisel (square) toed boots that you are wearing as I would like to get a pair-? Thats if they last a long time. Hope you have good growing conditions and another bountiful harvest.
@conleybanman8 ай бұрын
The previous pair I had lasted me 2 1/2 years and those were Ariats. The pair I have now is twisted x and I might have to get a new pair here soon they haven’t lasted me a full year yet but they are extremely comfortable

I'm only familiar with corn and soybean planting up north in MN so I was curious what type of plate you use in your planter for peanuts? Thanks!
@conleybanman8 ай бұрын
They’re just like normal seed plates just bigger holes since the seed is so big. I believe they’re called large bean plates

Do these planters have modified units for peanuts? Otherwise, could you not use the high-speed planter?
@conleybanman8 ай бұрын
As far as I know you can’t use the high speed planter for peanuts plus I wouldn’t want to plant that fast anyway on listed beds it’s way too soft and would probably make a mess. But it would be nice to plant that accurately with still going 5mph
@MrSnyper3608 ай бұрын
That makes sense.

@@conleybanman how come you guys don’t use high speed planters like the 1775NT with the exact emerge?

We actually have one but it’s used for planting cotton. Center fill planters don’t work to plant peanuts, the peanuts are too fragile and break in the air lines

Wats the difference in planting 70,000 seeds to the acres than planting 80,000 seeds to the acres, wat do it do because I seen a farmer planting peanuts and he was planting a 100,000 seeds to the acres
@conleybanman8 ай бұрын
The germination rate plays a big part in how many seeds per acre you want to plant and also how much water the peanut is gonna get
