My ski racing coach always used to make us train in the shittiest conditions so that any race run would be "easy". Get it, man! Thanks for all the videos and hope the season goes well. Started watching you just before I bought my first bike this year and been really enjoying your brand and videos. They're been helpful even though I don't ride cross, but hope to more one day. Was cool seeing you in the pits at the meadowlands and getting to see you do your thing in person.

At 56 and on an old '00 yz250 (not F), your laps looked insanely smooth and fast to me...but then again, I hadn't been on the dirt for more than 35 years before buying this monsterously quick death machine and after a year, I still haven't figured out what gear/speed to be in to clear a double confidently. Maybe if AJ could come ride my smoker and show me how it's done??? 😉

In the past, from the race day footage, I would always think that even if you were able to make it to the mains, that you wouldn't have the fitness to actually go the distance in the main. I think that you also felt/knew that, and that it was part of the reason that you wouldn't make the mains ----- you REALLY didn't want to make the mains. It will be cool if this new set-up gives you the fitness and prep to realistically make the main. It's not necessary for most of us, but it will be like the cherry on top. It will make watching the races a little more interesting, too.

You know way better than us how hard it is to do what you are doing. But I feel that you had the right approach ---- to just finish the goal, which was the 30 min. If you have to slow down at this point, to make it happen, fine. Don't worry how you look, or if you are going slow. Just do the 30 and then repeat. Then repeat it several times during the week, and you will feel more and more comfortable, and you will get faster and faster during the 30s. It's a work in progress, but I feel you are doing the right things. Just commit, and stick to it. I also think it would be easier if you were there together with Jett and Hunter.
