Great video haven't seen this kind of video since I wanted to get some feedback on the software. Base from the video you are using their discription they put together for the eBay store? I'm just wondering about that. Regarding your eBay store did you create a store just for the cards or did you use one you had before? I have my eBay account but never used it as a selling thing. From reading changing your name might screw up your feedback since I bought many things from eBay and had good reviews. What other scanner would you suggest since the one you have is expensive for someone starting. Keep up the great work.

@@louiem5985 thanks! Yes I’m using the description auto generated by the CDP software but I’ve tailored it to fit what I generally use for singles, slabs, and sets. Unfortunately the fi-8170 is the only scanner I have experience with, but I’m sure there are videos reviewing other scanners with CDP. Good luck with your new store!

Dude, I also just learned about Store Category numbers through this video. All my CDP listings kept going to "Other". Now I know how to send them to the correct one. Thanks again!

Nice video, I just started my subscription about 4 hours ago and listed as many BIN's as I did all of last week. Thanks for posting the parallel search, I'm still learning the nuances. I would recommend learning how to do a custom SKU as you scale. Monterey Sports Card posted a video about the details to adjust that. Thanks!

@@PaulDominico yes that’s correct! I ordered the piece he created and then just removed that piece all together and haven’t had any issues.

After using for six months now over 25k cards scanned I would only advise penny sleeves if you use toploaders there will end up being scratches on both lenses in your 8170. I love the software however on avg it's only accurate 65 to 70 percent 9f the time. Good luck and happy scanning😊

Nice video! I put all of my cards in a penny sleeve, top loader, then top loader sleeve. Do you think the top loader sleeves would cause an issue running through the scanner? Thanks!
@JayNicksАй бұрын
@@dannyfaught5945 thanks! I’ve noticed that penny sleeves alone are good enough for protection and the scans are clearer. This helps with the card detection phase in CDP. Some people have issues with the scanner leaving lines on the card, but you can find videos on how to remove the piece that causes that. Hope that helps!

How do you do shipping? I see some people offer shipping pretty cheap, under $2. I can never get my label that cheap on eBay, what am I doing wrong?
@JayNicks24 күн бұрын
@@williamwilliams7235 hey William! eBay offers eBay Standard Envelope for any cards under 3 oz in weight and under $25 in price. My shipping price on these is $1 and the fee for the label can range between $.69 and $1.25 based on weight. I usually break even on the shipping but that little bit helps when you’re doing higher volume.

How do you sort your cards after you put them thru the scanner and than put them in storage until they sell?
@JayNicks26 күн бұрын
@@MartinHarold123 hey Martin, the card dealer pro software will assign SKU numbers and those are part of the import to eBay. Then I just make sure the cards are in the same order they were scanned and I use 3 row boxes that fit around 1,000-1,200 cards. Then I label and add dividers every 100 cards.

Great video but... How can i see the aprox value without having to research the price on each card? No software on PC/MAC currently does this.. I have over 50k cards ready to start... :|
@JayNicks3 ай бұрын
@@CaptainHarlock-w6l there’s a button on the listing in card dealer pro that will open a browser tab showing eBay sold listings of the card. I usually just average the three most recent sales and use that price point.

I have been considering one of these type scanners. At $1k for it would take forever for it to pay for itself. Very nice tech tho...
@JayNicks4 ай бұрын
@@Jacob_Spang agreed. You need a large inventory or run 50+ auctions weekly to justify the price. $700 for the scanner, then another $60 for 5,000 scans per month on Card Dealer Pro.
