Wicked combo - Hologram Microcosm and MicroFreak! One of the most innovative pedals and synths can create insane riffs and whole other worlds. I once got lost in a reverb delay for 3 days.

More than just about anything the Microcosm seems to get this very genuine excitement from everyone who plays with it.

That jam at 10 minutes in made me want one. And then I remembered I still haven't mastered my other gear. *puts it on want list

This is a superb fx board, up there with Strymon Big/night sky and Eventide H9 max/ Blackhole. And yes of course there are great fx plug ins on DAWS. The usability, hands on control and breadth of effects for Guitarists/Synth live performers puts these in a different league.... Another great video. Cheers for opening my eyes... and ears Gabe. Superb!

Very dreamy and other worldy combo!💫 has opportunity to try microcosm with moog subharmonicon and its match made in heaven. Can imagine the sound desing possibilities with high end synths now. Its on my bucket list but for now gonna explore more affordable zoom ms70 cdr pair with my microfreak 👍

I just spent that entire sixteen minutes smiling and saying "OH MY GOD" over and over hahaha. That thing is amazing. The jam around the 10 and 11 minute mark was beautiful and the impromptu ambient extraterrestrial soundscape was outta this world. I can't wait to see what you do with this thing after a bit of time with it.

Really torn between getting a microfreak and a pedal or dropping a G on a moog grandmother 🤦♂️ 😳🤕 its all your fault Gabe. You aren't even really a synth channel but you started me down the rabbit hole. 🤣

effects are my blind spot, so far I use what's in reaper. no wonder, when I see what they ask for these little boxes. to me this is as interesting as unaffordable lol.
@GabeMillerMusic3 жыл бұрын
Fair, it's definitely pricey, I'm really glad I was sent one. I'm not sure if I'd have bought it myself but I'm really enjoying it so far. On the software end of things, I've gotten a lot of milage out of Spaced Out by Baby Audio, it's got some similar reverb and delay features.

Very fun! Looking at a NI MK3.... for $650 in a month.. now you got me thinking about a $500 pedal box.. hahah... wonder what it would do with my P-Bass or Strat? Looks like Hologram has other pedals as well. Hard to call this a pedal though.

$449 for a Hologram Microcosm, or $19 for a FL or Ableton plug-in that'll do the same and more... Choices.....
@GabeMillerMusic3 жыл бұрын
It's overkill if you're using it for sound design only, but it's more useful in the context of a guitarist or synthesist's pedal board for live performance and jamming. It's not worth it for everyone but it's very powerful for that kind of setup.
@cds81373 жыл бұрын
Whats the $19 plug in that does this? I'm interested... when I can manage plug ins on stage like minority report probably with MPE and foot control then sure... until then. No where near :)

Now you’ve sold out and your being paid to review stuff I’m going to say good luck and unsubscribe.
@GabeMillerMusic3 жыл бұрын
I didn't get paid monetarily, nor did Hologram have any say in the content of the video. They sent me a piece of gear that I genuinely wanted to try, and I tried it on camera. This isn't even a review, it's a music production and jam session. The goal was to learn the device and show off its capabilities to an audience who would find value in that. I don't do paid reviews, only paid demonstrations, but I'll happily review gear sent to me. If you think gear reviewers must buy every piece of gear they review, you're insane. This stuff gets expensive, and manufacturers sending demo units to tech content creators is normal. To be clear, I don't care whether or not you unsubscribe. But I want to set the record straight as to the relationship between me and companies. I always disclose when I've been sent free gear or whether a video is sponsored. Regardless, I never let companies put words in my mouth as far as my opinion goes. If I demonstrate a product and make it look cool, that should speak for itself.
