in defense of the devs and the choice to make "always on mic by default" they also made it so its only for party chat (people you invited or accepted an invite from) so its not just an open mic to everyone your near all the time

I really wish there was a slide skill in the first descendant. But I do like that the systems are warframe, while the missions are destiny. There is some janky with animations sometimes feel bad but its still been fun.

Only complaint so far with monetization (as I probably won't engage with it much besides the occasional cosmetic) is the paints. They appear to be 1 time use and so far I've only seen them in the battlepass? You also can't apply them to base skins. It's a pretty terrible system just from a user experience perspective.

You apply them to any skin and then it can be equipped and unequipped on that skin freely in any slot. It’s still a dumb system though. Means if you really want full customization you’d need to buy all the colours multiple times for all your favourite skins at 50 cents a pop. There is a few free skins though. Hidden away in the supply shop on the bottom right of the pass page. You earn the supply coins by completing the weekly and seasonal challenges.

My only complaint is the platforming is a little touchy with the grappling hook. You can be right in front of a ledge and not connect with the grappling hook.

The way I see it, if microtransactions allow someone to, say, skip grinding a boss several times, it's basically there for the rich and busy lawyers and whatnot that want to experience the whole game without having to repeat (hopefully fun) fights The real issue is either if the microtransactions allow skipping unnaturally boring stuff - energy systems in mobile games, long timers, boring grinds - or if the microtransactions allow an absolute or effective difference in power or access to content (particularly for PvP or competitive/leaderboard setups, but not great for PvE either). At least that how I see it. The best is still microtransactions for cosmetics, explicit "support the devs" packs, supporter type packs that provide acknowledgement/credits in or out of game, and so on

Warframe does this, but theres stuff you can sell soo you can "skip/buy better stuff" for free, maybe this game has or will have a market/trade place for the players.

I technically agree with the take on 'pay to progress' but it depends on the scale. Technically you could get everything via normal gameplay in diablo immortal as well it only takes you YEARS of gameplay (I recall people calculated actual years of gameplay) if you don't pay money. So there IS a point where pay to progress turns into clear pay to win, especially in pvp environments.

but there is a difference when the non pay to win only takes a couple weeks vs a couple years. for you example the devs did not want people to progress free in diablo immortal they purposefully made it so hard so long and nearly impossible you have pretty much no choice. for TFD it only takes a couple weeks at most but depends on how much you play.

@@1st_Atom I completely agree with you of course about the malicious greedy practices in immortal of course. I also did not want to bash TFD. So far I only watched videos and streams and have not played myself so I'm hardly qualified to cast judgement. My primary point was supposed to be that while pay to progress on it's face does not matter one should still be warry about it and not dismiss it per se since that as well can be 'twisted' (for the lack of a better word.

Kerbal Space Program 2 didn't get cancelled. The publisher, Take Two, is closing the development studio and laying off all those employees. The game is still for sale, but I won't recommend buying it at this point.

So, I found out how they are going to pay wall the f2p players, if you look at the decendents tab their is a max number if characters that you can have, it starts at 10 and you have to pay to unlock more spaces for characters. SO CHOOSE WISELY WHO YOU UNLOCK IF YOU DONT WANT TO PAY.

If it has the same systems as warframe then you can earn slots easily. For more information, you can both earn some slots for free from certain quests (they come with the frame/weapon but you can sell it) or from the nightwave (a battle pass that's 100% free) or just trade for platinum and buy slots. What I'm getting at is that there's a high possibility you will be able to earn or buy slots for free as a F2P player

You need to have a skin in order to use a paint you unlock. But you have to buy skins

There’s a few free skins. Bottom right of the pass page there’s the supply shop. (It’s a bit hidden tbh. Dumb design) Does require you to complete seasonal and weekly challenges to earn the coins though.

Pay2Progess isn't always a negative in the context that it offers players who lack the time to grind and play ad naseum the ability to catch up or condense playtime more efficiently. I like that its an option, but obvious abuse cases include it becoming a norm to skip content or the easiest means of circumventing bad game design. I dont know. I want to like TFD. I've noticed a number of glaring issues in my playtime. I hope they'll be addressed or remedied in due time. I'm cautiously optimistic, and hope this game will have a fruitful future and long lifespan centered around quality content releases and the avoidance of prioritization of monetization.

for your thoughts on destiny 2 and the reason you uninstalled is kinda BS. you are upset that the armor you wanted was part of a expansion you have not paid for and upset that they offered you the abilit to get 1 of the three new exotics before buying the expansion regardless if you can use it or not. and who the F cares about how much monetization's they do. none of it is pay to win pay for power or anything. they sell skins and cosmetics. yes i am a big D2 player and your reasoning is unwarranted. mad because you cant get paid content for free. oh the horror imaging needing to buy an expansion in order to get the newest gear. the level you said you got upset is on the same level of a toddler throwing a fit because his mom said he had to eat his veggies before he gets ice cream. i agree with alot of stuff you say but this you are simply just wrong.

It’s not pay-for-power? Power is locked behind paywalls. You cannot get your power level above a certain number without getting items locked behind paid content. So, I think he might be right.
