Finally got a chance for some downtime, and where do I head? Your wonderful wildlife allotment and of course that pond! Mark, you've done such a fantastic job of this - whether you like it or not I've just added you to my interview list 😆 It's your hard work and determination that brings you gifts such as Goldfinches - can't wait to see this in real life, I really enjoyed this video - best wishes, Joel

Thank you Joel, so pleased that my humble plot is a testament to the message you are spreading about the need for protecting and encouraging wildlife in our small spaces! I was so pleased to see those Goldfinches and they just live having bath and drink on the beaches of the pond

Very cool video Mark. I've advised folks for years... put your pond in LAST. Once the pond is in, ya can't not watch it! That's what I did... and I ain't got crap done since! 😂😂😂 Your pond is coming along nicely my friend. 👍

Ha, yes that’s the thing about wildlife ponds isn’t it Grumpus? Time just flies by but every minute is worth it when watching the wildlife go about their business. Thanks for stopping by my friend. Take care

I love that you have kept posting videos it is so good to see the pond settle in. So many other videos just stop after the water goes in. I would love to see how the pond is doing now.

It's amazing the amount of wildlife a pond attracts. I'm not lucky enough to have a fox visit mine though. That's lovely to see. It looks really natural the way you've planted it.

Thanks very much! I’m so happy that I installed a wildlife camera! Yes I want a natural look to the pond edges. As it matures it should look even better.

You certainly accomplished your goal of attracting wild life. I am wondering if your purple loose strife is the same wild flower we have in Ontario. It's beautiful but sadly it has been banned like the Himalayan balsam. Many wild flowers are considered weeds. I grow milk weed for the Monarch butterflies and fennel for the swallow tails. Keep the videos coming! ❤
@MarkyBigSmoke

I can’t believe they’re coming already, just by making a wildlife pond! Yes it could well be the case; I was reading somewhere that some of these wildflowers are banned for various crazy reasons lol. I’m sure I won’t get Monarch butterflies but maybe if I grew milk weed you never know eh? Thank you so much for the encouragement!

@@MarkyBigSmoke common milkweed has a beautiful fragrance! Goldenrod and so many flowers are wild. Amazingly we have so much plant and animal life in common but we are separated by an ocean!

Amazing! Yes we may be separated by an ocean but may well live in similar growing zones! I’m in zone 8-9 here in sunny London, England. What about you?
