CKD Heated seats.. nice job

I have ordered the Thai version (2.2 l Diesel AWD with 6 seats) and we will get it tomorrow. We are driving a CX-5 since 2013 and are happy to get a bigger car. I am so not so happy with the heated seats, especially because the new CX-5 has ventilated seats. At least we got nicer floor mats! We tested the car and the air con works quite good also in the 3rd row.

can look past the out dated touch button on the door handles, the out of place seat belt anchor design, the impracticality of the car mats and even the heated seats in 37degree weather, .. but come on... no radar cruise control.. we need it in this malaysian traffic.

It would only be interesting if the CKD CX-8 came with the 2.5T engine and AWD. But I do agree about the carpets which from years ago never looked premium at all. The seatbelt anchor is a mind fart by the Mazda engineers. Keyless entry is far from premium. Also missing is the latest digital display on the instrument cluster.

The previous Mazdas and Hyundais premium models all have sunroofs. But now all of them don't even get a panoramic glass roof. For a sub-200k car!! What in the world!?!

My personal preference is to hv a row seat instead of 2 seater...overall is not too bad for CX8...luxury with SUV features..

Agree the top model should be a 2- captain seat 2nd row and a walk thro. Opportunity missed as mid plus do not come with the safety features. I like the 8 proportion better than 5.

Can anyone confirms the turning ratio? 11.6m is a big turn. I usually see 5.x metre. Any issue in making a U turn at the traffic lights?

cx8 for sure, it is using cx-9 platform, much more above fortuner platform class
