That B58 engine is the modern-day 2JZ/RB26. 500BHP is achievable with just an exhaust, intake & a map!

You can thank BMW for that, not Toyota. The N54 and N55 engines from BMW, in the 335i's, were also considered modern day 2JZ engines for their time. So basically, BMW has been killing it for years while other companies, including Toyota, have been left behind. This is why Toyota collaborated with BMW for the new Supra. Toyota knew they couldn't compete if they tried making their own engine.

Very Nice, it was a Supra or my Mach 1, I've had Toyotas for the last 26 years but had to go with the Ford. Beautiful Machine!! I like the steering wheel, went with a Matte CF flat top and bottom Beith.

Engine swapping the old Supra 😅 No, the engine is literally what made it what it is. And the engine is most of the reason why those cars are so valuable now. The car was just very average apart from the engine and more of a GT car

4:43-4:55 You're getting your facts wrong here. It not "slightly BMW". It MOSTLY BMW, and "slightly" Toyota. The Supra is, I would say, 90% BMW. Interior, chassis, transmission, motor...all BMW. The body and tuning (which was collaborated with BMW btw) are the only things Toyota. Well, except for the fake vents. That's all Toyota lol.
