For those that don't know, this is extremely common for Carbon Ceramic brakes. They need to under go a "bedding process", it's kind of like a breaking process that does two things. 1. It slightly shifts the pads in place so they are more perfectly alight with the rotor's rotation, 2. It gets microscopic carbon particles to transfer from the pad to the rotor to fill minor imperfections that are normal in the manufacturing process. So this is normal. The only way to resolve this is to do something called thermal conditioning / reconditioning. Basically, you need to race/track the car You have to get the top most layer of your carbon ceramic up to "failure"- to extreme temperatures at least once so the carbon can transfer and create a "perfect plane" for even pressure Your options are to just drive aggressively until it goes away, track your car, accelerate and slam your brakes like 10-20 times (basically until you get 2 or 3 silent stops). Since most of y'all complaining about these brakes I will also assume you never used brake cleaner. If you have squeaky brakes you should spray it on a day or two before doing the brake in period to get any dirt off of your rotors before doing the "bedding"

Had a GT2 and Turbo S with PCCB's and neither made that noise in the 50k miles I covered between them. That's horrendous.

the carbon ceramics on bmw are different level compared to amg and rs, we cant really compare them to ferrari or super cars, my m8 on carbon ceramics felt way better and performed way better than my amg gt with carbon ceramics@@shreddedlittle

I have never been a fan of ceramic brakes for daily driving and this is why they have to go !!! The wagon looks INSANE & I'm loving the starlight roof too. Big power is going to ruin your low down fun but it will plant you in those carbon buckets after 4000rpm but the journey is going to be great as always

i have the ceramic brakes too, and on my cars they don't make that much noise... i guess you need some luck with it ?? another big advantage of the ceramics is that your rims keep way longer clean !like it's a huge difference ! i guess everybody has his opinion

Try some brake cleaner and copper grease on the pads also check the calipers are not sticking and no stones stuck between pad and disk if its still doing it check the brake pistons. Should not sound like that. Keep up the good work

i do love a fast estate an about time bmw started making them. ceramic brakes are a pain unless bedded in a certain way, you can buy different pads to quieten it down but i think it reduces braking quality slightly.

Carbon ceramics are really for track use tbh. And seeing as BMWs are tracked more than some of their competitors they may have gone for noisier carbon ceramics in exchange for more performance. Run them around a local track and they might get quieter after a few heat cycles

As for the carbon brakes squeak i remember a owner said his Mercedes slr carbon brakes having the same issue. I believe the solution was to drive it 120mph and slamming the brakes so they get red hot. Basically taking the oxidized layer off. I believe he had to do it a couple of time. Get the brakes red hot, let then cool then do it again for few times.

There’s something not right for sure with those CCB’s. I had them on my previous M4CS and they were silent for the 2 years and 10k miles. I also have them on my current m4 comp and again they are silent. Just like having normal brakes but without the dust and hugely less weight. They also look amazing.

I had that with my st205 Celica running trd fast rd pads 😂,try getting small weights like golf club weights on the front calipers,Audi rs3 has this done and it solved it,it's the resonance frequency you want to change,hence the weights.

Brakes getting more wet and if you not bedded them brake in they will make weird noises for a bit but the current noise on video I would say water off road hitting brake an carbon cermanics take a lot more to heat up anyway bit of a nightmare but when you get use to using them an they fully done some good miles you should be all good maybe wheels open so much might not be warming you brake cooling way quick so heat transfer between pads and discs could be causing it hope it helps a bit love the car absolutely sick 🤘💪🔥🔥🔥
