That is odd, the Kia/Hyundai engine here in the Philippines is very powerful, muscular and no slouch. It is even much better than the Toyota Alphard V6 when heading the mountains; where Alphard's ace is its smoothness because gasoline V6.

I lived in South Korea, I saw the Korean people They support and loved their product. And I agree, don't stick to one brand, Europeans, American believe the Korean brand, Why we just stick to the brand of Japan. In my family house, there were many of brand. We have 6 car 2 continental car 2 proton car 1 perodua car 1 Korean car. I still remember when my dad bought Kia caren 15 years ago, our first MPV car. It is a good brand. We need to support our own product, like my dad bought the proton brand since 1990.. Until now, 5 years ago we bought proton preve.. It is about beli bila ikut kemampuan Dan memenuhi keperluam, bukan untuk impress orang.

Ermmmm, how is it that it's not exciting? In find Vellfire and Alphard too squarish and very boring, have the Toyota look and feel that it's not fun, coming from one who owns Toyot? Kia and Hyundai has redesigned their interior and exterior recently that it looks so much better than boring Toyota

Kia used to have weak gearbox! After certain mileage or when being used to ram it fast pacing, it's gearbox will wear quite fast compare to Japanese similar vehicle.......

naim yaakob sorento 2.2crdi weight about 2 tonnes as well and the acceleration is about 9.3s to 100kmh...for diesel engine the 0-100 figure is not that impressive bacause the peak power and torque curve is short that is between 1750 to 3500 rpm before it max out to 4500rpm redline... to get the car from 0 to 100 requires 3rd to 4th gear due to its small curve than a equivalent petrol engine which rev all the way to 7000rpm. but how many time u ever drag 0-100 on real life? most of us will need the power when cruising say at 90kmh on 6th gear then drop to 5th gear to overtake from 90 to 140kmh before shifting to 6th gear and continue to accelerate to 180kmh with that load of torque... here is where the equivalent petrol engine with 220nm (any 2.4 liter petrol) will be outrun in a shamefull manner. for your info, a gle 250d weigh about the same as sorento and using 2.2 diesel with 205ps/500nm. the power is about the same with sorento.

The Focus point of this review is the Negative side / disadvantage of this car. A very mundane review despite the car has great benefits for the families. Try to be more neutral instead! And may I ask the reviewer himself, what is your favorite car specifications that looks great and appealing to you despite of your nerdy looks?

i share the same sentiment... the reviewer seemed to have negative thought for this car right from beginning... for example “material rougher/lower quality going down the dashboard” but then he try to pull back the negativity by saying “it is the same with alphard” or the power figure of 190ps and the big torque doesnt really translate to the car being powerful just enough to make the car feel not underpowered” i dont get it if the car feel not underpowered, what does that mean? it simply means the car has adequate power to pull its big size weight and its passenger. and when comparing quality of interior with alphard as the same... would it be easier to just say the quality of the cabin is above average since it has the same quality with alphard that cost twice the price? and based on roda pusing, the NVH also is better than the alphard which means passenger and driver will have more comfortable ride on this vehicle especially on the long journey.... also the big torque on diesel car shines at crusing speed meaning when u cruise at 90km/h and want to over take it will accelerate faster to 150km/h than a 2.4 liter alphard which only have 220nm 170hp
