Aftermarket distributor die easily if you are not lucky,just dont throw away the dizzy you removed. Keep it in the car all the time just incase.

How did you lock the crankshaft when fastening the crankshaft bolt. I have a fear of moving the timing when doing so or have the bolt come loose.

Nah, it won't move because every time you try to turn it, the engine turns so it is impossible to loosen it 🤔🤣
