Keep the Monte Carlo Randy. She’s a one of a kind and you’ve got your own blood sweat and tears into it. You also have the fellowship and help of friends that got you there. My ex talked me in to trading in my brand new special edition IROC Z28 and I regret it to this day. The dare was 204 out of 500 ever made. Keep the Monte

When I had my 68 Camaro I had the same problem with the back bolt on the header, I took an 7/16" open end wrench and ground down the sides of it so I could do more then an 1/4 turn at a time. worked like a charm.

I’ll tell you from someone who has bought and sold so many cars in my life so far (not as many as you obviously), there are some I never think about and there are a few I truly regret selling. I’m sure by now this thing is long gone down the road, but if it were me in your shoes, man I could not part with that Monte Carlo or the Viper. Everything else you can find on any given day, but you can’t find something as perfect as what you’ve put the sweat and elbow grease in yourself and with good friends. The ‘57 is bad ass don’t get me wrong, but there’s no story behind it other than you got a good deal on it.

You're not starting out in first gear, I want to see you manually shift it. I think its taking in 3rd gear, then it shifts to O/D, I believe you have a manual valve body transmission, it must be shifted 1-2-3-OD.......try it!!!

Mine was pretty much stock T Top w/305 V-8 Auto ,A/C . Which I two toned ,leaving bottom in original silver & repainting from stripe up in Coca Cola Red, along with a New OEM SS stripe kit n emblems . Car was always a Head turner and I traded it n took back a 73 Pont conv w/455 V-8 . Good Luck with your Project

Totally understandable wanting to sell for financial reasons for a new vehicle, tho you have other vehicles you can sell too. Like that Rambler... In my opinion, you have worked so hard on that Monte. The good, the bad and the ugly. You have made some memories in that car unlike many other cars on your channel. @autoauctionrebuilds Does this transmission have a TV cable on the throttle linkage? I am worried the line pressure is too low and that’s the reason you can’t hear the 1-2 & 2-3 shifts. It should have a button that you press and you pull the cable back towards the carburetor to increase the line pressure if I remember correctly. If you play around with the different positions you should feel the shifts firm up and the kick downs may be too harsh if the line pressure is too high (plus shifts). Then you back off the pressure a little until you get it where you want it. It’s an absolute beautiful car Randy! I am pretty sure you will have no problem getting your number on this car if you decide to sell it.

Hard decisions for you I bet. This was the first major project you have done since Swamp Vette and you did it with your friends which I'm sure makes it extra special. You're right, it is a low mileage, well built example of a Real Monte SS, and it will continue to go up in value. If you had a place for it and that super slick new addition to your fleet, I'd keep them both. Better investment than playing the Stock Market.
