Double clutching is actually a highspeed breaking technique. Using the break while also slightly pressing the throttle to match the revs downshifting into a turn. This prevents loss of grip from deceleration into the turn. Driver's have their pedals in very specific placement for this.

Good to see you getting it sorted, you can double clutch on the down shift as well, but it looks like you will get the hang of it pretty quick. I drove mine to work today and I can pretty much do it seem less with no clunk …. You will get it! My shift cut is .12 for reference!

Shift like a big rig trans, you can shift without using the clutch once you get use to it. Once you find the sweet spot knowing your engine it will be smooth .we have to double clutch our Rigs . Pull out of gear to neutral Rev then pull into gear

@@sebastianjackson9773 Hey I understand.. nice car by the way. Paddle shifting is hands down a faster way of shifting. But there is no substitute for a true manual. Again, I have both and outside of being stuck in traffic, a manual is wayyy more fun "in my opinion ". With that said, I have accepted the fact that we are in the final days of the manual. That's why I'm keeping mine as long as I can.

My biggest problem after driving a semi all day is that i then drive the car the same way and it hates it. So if this dog box trans shifts more like a semi trans, floating between gears without the clutch, im going to rock the shit out of my car. As you let off the throttle to upshift, you can pull out of gear to then ride the next gear. Only hover over the teeth while you let the revs down slowly and when the grinding stops, pop it in and punch it. Downshifting is slightly different because of when you usually choose to downshift, while youre stopping and while youre cruising. So laying into and letting off of the throttle will help you pull it out of gear before you hover and rev match to shift down. Youll never need the clutch unless you stop. And if it wont go into gear fully when stopped, just pump the clutch a little bit back from full engagement. Youre going to love that damn thing Stef. I think the biggest hurdle is the fear of breaking it while getting used to it

you have straight cut gears that what a dog box is you either have helical cut or strait cut ppg makes a dam good dog box. use to run in my 02 bug eye Subaru they were know for having weak dog box second gear was made on the shaft and would shatter so i learned the strait cut Geares are most reliable for big power and helical will definitely leave you stranded eventually you will have to get use to the clonks and bags strait cut gears cool vid boss

When you shift let the rpms fall just a hair as they drop for a split second then go into gear that's a un synchronized Trans let the motor tell you what it wants its a feel like I mentioned before once you get good at you will learn it eo well and won't use a clutch

When driving normal in traffic don't allow the motor to wind up shift at a lower rpm it will fall right into gear

@@nasapeterbilt6042 I was wondering if this would work. It's how I used to downshift while driving cars with snapped clutch cables. A little bit of pressure on the gear lever, then when the road/engine speed matches the trans speed it would just slot into gear like butter. I prob did about 100+ miles overall like this in various cars, and in traffic etc. Bumping the car in 1st gear off the starter motor from a stop was annoying, embarrassing and fun all at the same time 🤣 My boys were confused af when they realized how I could drive smoother than ppl they know that have a full operational clutch system.
