First dwarf current sits at mixed on steam, it certainly has some problems but it seems like a pretty solid game in most aspects, a little work by the devs and this will be great little distraction for a couple of weeks. But why not check out some gameplay and see for yourself!

2min in.. everthing with Cute Dragons, red Bearded Dwarfs and Mech Suits is a Win! Especaly with Voice Over Dialogs.

I must admit that the little dragon sounds a lot like Laney at times 😅 But it’s awesome that you played this, the game has a lot of promise!

The story is interesting and the artwork is really good. Unfortunately there is only a short duration of gameplay at the moment so after about 8 hours I ran out of quests and monsters to battle. The defense is brutal with the paper thin walls that get shredded immediately. The quest doesnt really prepare you for it either. As soon as you build the 5 walls and 2 turrets you get inundated :) Is a fun game and hopefully more gets added quickly to increase the game content.

Looks nice, interesting story. The defending looks intense, you're almost forced to expand slow and deliberately. Maybe using walls and towers like you did in Farthest Frontier with main builsings all clumped together and heavily defended and the housing in the second ring.

Remember to always remove the spawners before leaving the city. Otherwise they will costantley attack you. You can use the dragon to burn the trees

You didn't even get into the spitters that stand back and lob gobs of goo at your base. Usually they would sit on the cliff above that stone mine and lob goo at you from up there and it takes a bit to get up there to kill them. Also look into building those balloon turrets , they really pack a punch.

So basically, after they got done with making Driftland: The Magic Revival, someone in a pitch meeting was like, 'what if we did the same thing but this time instead of an RTS god perspective, it's single player on the ground?'

Being based on islands they're possibly going to be treated as levels kind of like the settlers series rather than having to build up and having to fall back and defend from crazy distances.

Yes, this definitely seems like the sort of game where you need to be very careful not to build too big, too fast. If your base is too expansive, you gimp yourself on resources and create an area too broad to effectively defend. I'd be curious to see a playthrough with a more minimalist approach with expansion happening in phases. It might seem like a slower gameplay style, but when compared against the delays of having to constantly rebuild...

Nice mix of exploration and tower defense. Half expected the game to say "you require more mana". I do wonder if the attacks will be rebalanced in future.

That spawning seems a bit harsh, but maybe it is something that you can prevent with new tech later on. Still, this seems super fun!
