Pretty neat to see them run with a little speed. Great coverage!

I was in the last covered car before the caboose that evening. Def an accomplishment worth celebrating!

I was riding up in the third open Air car ( no roof) behind 16 and I enjoyed every minute of it especially when 16 was going up hill and i was covered in soot and loving it all the way to Colgate

We were there that day. Great video. We love the whistle.

Where do you find a better Cinderella story than this? Keep it going, and don't stop at Saltillo -- all the way to Robertsdale!

Why stop there. All the way south to Alvan and North to Mount Union.

Yes, all the way to Robertsdale and Mt. Union and rebuild at least one of the Mt. Union coal trestles

Need to return to the EBT one of these days to hopefully ride behind a steam loco. So happy they're expanding their network again & can't wait until they reach another milestone!

Looks like 16 has her original whistle back I think

Please donate whatever you can to the Friends of the EBT. It takes one to buy ties, ballast, and spikes. Something like 150,000.00 to get to Jordan Summit.

Hope to see 15s rebuild commence soon. Heard her trailing truck will be repaired and her cistern replaced. Cab will be kept (hopefully) and have old paint sanded off and new paint sprayed on. With POR primer of course 😊

I hope they reopen the mainline all the way to Mt. Union!

The track between the Colgate grove and Mount Union is owned by a separate entity, and unless they partner with the EBT Foundation or work something out on their own accord the line from the grove to Mount Union will remain inactive. Also worth noting is that the existing track that still remains on that stretch is heavily corroded and the original right of way has mostly been completely covered in vegetation by now

@@wolfzillaproductions4563 Actually, as far as I know, they own up to the bridge over Aughwick Creek past Shirleysburg. Is there any point of extending the operable track past the grove up that way? Not really. There isn't much more to see up there. Most of the really interesting and historically significant stuff is south - excluding Mount Union yard, but they don't own Mt. Union yard. Therefore, that's a bit of a moot point.

@@wolfzillaproductions4563vegetation is just a little more work, and they are relaying and rebalasting it all anyway

Also remember that they are constantly maintaining the existing track for the heavy steam engines. Going towards Mount Union would put more expenses on the organization.
@ryano.51493 ай бұрын
@@richwhite5003 Also, worth mentioning, there is a more or less extant wye in Saltillo. There is no such wye in Shirleysburg, and a wye there, if there was room, would be redundant anyway. At the end of the day, there is no elegant way to operate up to said bridge over Aughwick Creek. The train would have to either pull up to the bridge and shove back to Colgate grove, OR turn on the wye at Colgate and shove back to the bridge before pulling forward. That's not a very elegant or easy way to operate a tourist excursion. Granted, never say never...but I think in order for it to be at all worth it to go north, the EBT would have to somehow acquire the trackage in Mt. Union...but then we're talking about hopes, dreams, unicorns, and fairytales, not necessarily reality.

I'm sure they'll reach Robertsdale (in my lifetime). I wonder if they'll eventually reach Mount Union.

What was that building on the left side of the train as it came to a stop? What an odd place to have a home. What town was it close too?

what's the max speed on EBT?
@wolfzillaproductions45633 ай бұрын
I think around 25 MPH, maybe a bit more
@Zimmzamm3 ай бұрын
I believe it’s class 2 track so 20 or 25 depending on specific requirements they meet
