PIA "lease" their aircrafts, not gift them and services and training provided to them are fully paid for. It was a business deal. And the only reason PIA did is to extend the friendship between two nations, otherwise nobody in their right mind creates a business competitor for themselves. I see half of the PIA traffic now is been taken by Emirates itself. And after 1985 things started to happen in UAE which create lots of opportunities for Pakistani people in UAE and Pakistanis avail most them. Today Pakistanis are the 2nd foreign nation by population and contributed a lot in their economy so far. So I believe the favour is well returned.
