yeah i feel that for a speedrunner that final phase would be kinda ass but for a casual runner like me it is so unbelievably cool that his final phase has a completely different method of taking him on compared to basically any other monster, where u quite literally need to wait ur turn to deal damage, plus the constant bombardment is super cool.
@thedazzlingape2006 Жыл бұрын
wait your turn, is what I felt from his fight, it was easy but I never made it to the final stage cause I got tired of it so I just died due to "not even caring anymore" I dont know why but this fight is not hard, but to me its a challance to find it interesting enough to finish. tried it solo twice, got tired and just let him kill me and since then, just left it. literally dont care.

@@amanlyspoon6257 I finally beat it, it was infuriatingly boring, which was made even worse by fiorayne prolonging the fight by distracting him all the time and her dog too. the fact that you can't choose to solo every quest, is bullshit. but yea, the fight is not good, its just a bunch of combos and explosions thats his gimmick. easy to figure out, easy to deal with and boring having to wait around "are you done yet? can I go now?"

I related to that cart on a spiritual level lmao. This entire quest seems like a really cool way to finish the game, I hope more games get more cinematic quests like this. The layered armor color glitching in the cutscene had me crying

Definitely felt the same way about the final phase when doing the fight on hammer. When I switched over to DB for the fight, my opinions kind of reversed. Instead, I find myself wishing he was in that phase for more of the fight since I felt it was the most fun part of the db matchup.

This fight actually has a surprising amount of blindspots. I found quite a few moves that seemed like they should hit not hitting. Kind of annoying for instablock lance in that regard. But damn does lance have an easy time with this fight otherwise. With hammer, I had my ass handed to me. Btw Lynn, it's been a joy following you since the start of Sunbreak. I hope to see you in future titles.

Primordial Malzeno is probably the only elder dragon that thanked us in all of monster hunter games truly the most lovely final update, I also would love to see more of Malzeno in the future monster hunter games. edit: that attack u got carted with was the same level of coolness Valstrax's ambush is :DD

I think there's blindspots on the move that carted you there, I remember being like in the middle of the move and not getting hit, but I may be mistaken. It comes out quick, but if it has the blindspots in between each beam, the hitbox is surprisingly small and much more reactable. Requires very good reaction time yes, but reactable nonetheless I feel. I also think it may be I-Frameable with a regular roll pretty reasonable as it seems to be so quick. You were also in perfect position to keeping sway through it, but it caught you off guard since it requires such a fast reaction time. I don't think it was unfair, but just brutal.
@dynamo_lynn Жыл бұрын
In the context of this run it was impossible to react to it. The beams were all close to each other due to the camera angle and I could not see the gaps in between them at all. After fighting it again a few times it's more obvious now, and it's possible to water strike the beams. It's impossible to roll through them though, even keeping sway invincibility doesn't last long enough, as they linger despite the visuals.
@FrostyTheCookie Жыл бұрын
@@dynamo_lynn Ah, I see, makes sense. He really is a lot harder the first time fighting him, he does so much stuff that catches you off guard with his unpredictability. I think the more I fight him the more fair he seems, it's just his fighting style is so unique and hard to adapt to. Haven't lost to him yet, but I doe at least once every time I fight him (usually because I like playing risky lol, I've fought him 9 times.)
@dynamo_lynn Жыл бұрын
@@FrostyTheCookie He is very fair. My thoughts about him already changed today after fighting it a good amount of times for tomorrow's video. I'll probably give my full thoughts on it in a community post, because there's a lot of other things aside from the fight itself I didn't talk about in the description of this first encounter :p

@@dynamo_lynn Can't wait to see that! There is so much amazing about this guy even outside of the fight, one of the most interesting monsters in the series for sure! The fact that he essentially Switch Scroll Swaps in the fight, utilizing the mechanic introduced in sunbreak is so cool. Not to mention he's so incredibly intelligent, even for an Elder Dragon.

I've strangely had more success with Hunting Horn. Specifically the scorned magnamalo one spamming sonic barrier to just "No" his Mega demon Drug phase. This combined with Blood rite and Bloodblight and i ended up healing through all the damage he was doing while still swinging thanks to sonic barrier song spam. All in all a fantastic monster to end off sunbreak and his armor is just *chefs kiss* in terms of design. Dont know about functionality part in it tho.

I had a god damn blast with this fight, it's just way shorter than I would've liked. I was hoping it'd have health on par with the risen Elders but I guess they really just wanted this to be a cool spectacle finish. Regardless still. a really good fight imo. My favorite combo of his is when he force the hunter into the "laid the fuck out" state but if you try to get up he shield charges you into a tail stab. Almost like he's saying "SIT BACK DOWN". As for the move that carted you I would say a solid "probably". Like obviously not knowing the move at all makes it damn near impossible to know what it is, but the lights and the gap between them are hints enough when we've seen move that are similar to it. Though you were also in a REALLY bad spot.

Primordial Malzeno is nice but I'll admit that the last phase is just awful gameplay wise. Also I don't think you could have reacted to the move. That said if you were worse at the game, P Malz does a weaker version of the move before the last phase but you went too fast and didn't get to experience it. I like calling the last phase "Demonlord" phase since it's how it's presented by the NPCs

I felt that at first, absolutely no openings, quick AoE attacks and projectiles, but once it's all over a HUGE opening. Also, the pattern of attacks it's always the same. So yeah, it's frustrating and punishing at times, but it really shows that its combo game needs to be respected. A worthy final to the game, showing through the fight that you can't just road roll everything
