It's insane to me how massive Dalamadur is. It could easily swallow the hunter whole and be done with it. But of course that would break the rules of the game and be unfair to fight against. I thought the same thing when fighting Gaismagorm in Sunbreak. I only recently discovered that Dalamadur's corpse made up the Rotten Vale when I noticed that Radoban's nest is within a pair of massive jaws. When I looked into it further, I saw that Dalamadur's skull is also illustrated on the map. Well said in the description. I'm really tired with the World Vs Rise stuff. There is no grounded or anime or whatever ; there's just Monster Hunter.

List of formative experiences I had playing Monster Hunter: Getting to the high rank final boss Dalamadur and not realizing I was well past the point where you're meant to be soloing shit if you don't know what you're doing, and taking three attempts to fight Dalamadur with Charge Blade while still not really knowing how to play the weapon. Like I think I *might* have known how to charge the shield at this point but I'm not certain and that should tell you where I was at. I think being told by my friend after the fact that apparently news that I had finally done it Shocked And Confused her MH veteran friends who weren't sure doing that was possible without actually optimizing high rank gear was the confidence boost I needed to keep soloing through 4U G-Rank, so like. Yeah I basically attribute my willingness at the time to have stuck with the video game to this particular incident of Sheer Stubbornness. That felt pretty good.

"but as much as the Portable team does like to bring the series up to new levels, I think the main team creating Dalamadur really puts all that talk to rest.' This attempt at distinguishing design philosophies between portable and mainline teams as being about "anime versus grounded" is just nonsense. You don't even have to go as far as Dalamadur to find an example of a mainline monster that ignores elements of being grounded. Just look at Rajang (Super Saiyan monster). Or Brachydios (explosive boxer monster). Or the Magalas (anime virus dragon with a transformation that is borderline MHFrontier levels in the amount of explosions its moveset introduced). Or Seltas+Seltas Queen (super sentai transformers monster). Or the two Tigrex variants that MH4U introduced that moved Tigrex from just a super angry flying wyvern to a super angry flying wyvern with AOE roars and powder explosions. EDIT: Oh, and how can I forget MH4U's take on Stygian Zinogre (a monster incidentally introduced in a mainline game, by the way), which made him a combo monster complete with wakeup DPs like in a fighting game?

You sound very upset, I hope this comment isn't directed at me because this is exactly what I'm saying in the description ; it's nonsense that was introduced in the series post-World because of new players who do not understand the series. So, we agree on that front.

@@dynamo_lynnThe craziest thing to me is the fact that world isn’t very grounded neither. Nergigante literally reproduces with it spike

People who speak of Pokemon cutscenes as if they pushed the 3DS to it's limits have never heard of Monster Hunter. Also, you're based for your view of the "too anime" debate. People create a fictional "top" for the series and label everything that taps above it as "over the top". Edit: Rajang has facial expressions, and the Raths also have movable lip muscles if i'm not mistaken

I love Nibelsnarf, it feels so genuinely old-gen with the bomb and fishing gimmicks. I love when monsters have weird stuff like this, like being able to fish Plesioth with a frog or tripping Nargacuga with a sonic bomb.

Interesting takes, can’t believe you hate Xeno. Especially AT Xeno is one of my favourite fights to do (with my HR sets ofc). I’d also move Fulgur down a bit, the fight is kinda dumb. He looks perfect tho. Maybe I am biased,cuz I basically only play GS and Bow in MH WIB. I’m glad you like Kulve, probably the best fight in the game for me.

Shen Gaoren could be a good candidate for a revamp. A fortress threatening elder-level carapaceon is a solid inclusion to variety. Heck, carapaceons in general gotta get some new blood.
@kayeskibbler6477 күн бұрын
Okay, why do the newer games not wait until the monster sleeps for the "quest clear" to start? That was way more satisfying, capping tends to be pretty anticlimactic imo but that brief pause did wonders for my brain idk why, just feels more dramatic and right

@vultera156157 күн бұрын
Heres a tip, when Gaoren knocked down you can roll under the shell and hit sweetspot, it also generally better to target only one leg and trip lock it
@dynamo_lynn7 күн бұрын
Which is what I do in this video... And you apparently missed. The thing is, Shen Gaoren's body takes 45 damage to blunt while the weakspot is 90. When Shen Gaoren drops from flinches, he gives me time for 2 golfswing combos. Wasting time to get to the weakspot gives me only 1. So I'm dealing better damage just focusing on the body. I only go the weakspot for good at 16:00 upon dealing maximum damage to its legs, since this gives Shen's longest opening.
