First Encounters of Cinnabon - Story Time

A little overview of when I initially noticed this abandoned/lost kitty on my property. The thumbnail is from the first night I noticed Cinnabon in the house I built.

The fact he's adopted a cat is nice but showing compassion for this animal, and none for those who were brutally murdered and chopped to pieces for their skin to adorn his furniture shows exactly the same moral schizophrenia that damn near everyone has. Animals are all sentient, there's no moral difference between killing one or the other, in spite of what society's propaganda and buzzwords like humane would have you believe. No attempts at justification change that. So how caring about animals are you really when you spend your life ignoring suffering caused by your own selfish consumption? How's that soul looking now in reality? It's amazing how brainwashed people like yourself ignore, or make excuses to overlook the blatant facts staring you in the face though.

K to the K I’m a huge animal advocate, haven’t consumed animal flesh in over 25 years, and have raised children who understand the importance of compassion along with being proactive with everything from how our food is sourced to how our household products are tested for safety. We try to live as compassionately as possible, but vilifying someone else because their kindness is just not kind enough for your standards is wrong. Its attitudes like that that give people like me a bad rep. It’s not all or nothing. Any kindness is far better than no kindness. This man does not have to live to anyones standards of compassion. It’s sweet that he’s formed a bond with this innocent kitty. So many men (and just people) wouldn’t even bother.

The trick is rewarding ur hoomin with small amounts of ur presence as ur hoomin learns to bestow you with greater and greater offerings including but not limited to food water treats entertainment medical care and shelter until you have fully taken over teh hoomins home. Cats are extremely intuitive, they feel more than we perceive. Cinnabon appears to be an exceptionally good judge of human character. Once you've earned a cats trust you will know unconditional love for the rest of its life.

My neighborhood had a real awful feral problem. We worked like crazy to TNR all of them but there was this orange tabby male, full of testosterone, I mean he was the most muscular cat I’d ever seen. He was obviously the tom cat of the colony, and no matter what he would NOT fall for the humane traps. He didn’t trust humans at all, I would leave him food and he would let me watch from afar but if I even took a step to him he was gone. A few months went by and my neighbor brought in a professional and they caught the tom and he was neutered, vaccinated and let go. I went to check on him and bring him food and it was like a completely different cat came back. He wasn’t a lost or dumped cat, he was a born feral so we never thought we’d be able to bond with him, but when I brought out the food he ran right up to me, rubbed against my legs, and tried his hardest to meow (meowing isn’t really common in true Ferals. Cats meow to communicate with humans, not with each other so ferals never develop the habit). He would let me pet him and then he’d scratch or bite. I spent about an hour with him that day. Later that night I heard the most god awful warbling outside my front gate and it was the Tom. He wanted in my yard. So I set him up a safe place with food and water and he stayed every day for a month. Then he slowly ventured inside. It’s been a year and now Tom (his name since we always called him Tom cat) is a house cat just like Cinnabon. It’s amazing how trust, time, and less testosterone will do with a feral/scared cat. He doesn’t bite or scratch anymore but he still has the ugliest, most god awful meow I’ve ever heard.

I'm a manly man who loves his cat almost as much as life itself but no one seems to give a crap. You can see her in my profile pic, my Polly Jane. She's been with me since she was a kitten, 14 years now, been with me through one divorce and numerous girlfriends, all who didn't think much of me having a cat that I constantly snuggled and baby talked. I remember One X asking me what the hell kind of a man I was that I had a cat and not a dog. I guess I'm just the kind that loves his cat. Nobody seems to like cats much where I live and men who love them are perceived as either wimps or gay by the single ladies. My second wife thought I was gay when she first met me. She said no man dresses that good , looks that good and loves cats and isn't also homosexual. Not that there is anything wrong with being gay but I'm not and when the Single Ladies think I am because I dress well, take care of myself and love my fur baby , well that's just a little frustrating. I'm now over 40 and not as beautiful as I used to be although smarter and funnier than I've ever been, yet dates are harder to come by because they think I'm closeted and only want to date them for a smoke screen.

His demeanor and personality reminds me of my old cat Crimson. (RIP BIG DUDE!) Keep giving your big guy love and he will do the same! I was never a cat person either until I had my two big boys! My neighbor had told me that she was going to give up the last two kittens to the kill shelter cause no one wanted them... I wasn’t gonna have that! There's a British guy whose story got famous how his life was saved by a ginger cat, named Bob. You can check it out just google- Bob, the streetcat. They also made a movie about them which is good. But I recommend the book(s) those are much more in depth :) A really uplifting, heartwarming story of a human saved by an animal companion.

I love background stories about how people & their furbabies come together. Cinnabon has ended up with a great home & a hoomin who truly loves & adores him. My own cat was a rescue. My brother & his ex-wife found him on the street & were looking for a home for him because Dublin didn't get along with two of their other pets. As soon as Dublin & I met, it was love at first sight. 11 1/2 years later, & my own ginger boy & I are still happily sharing a home. Cinnabon has one ear tip cut off - he was a feral captured, neutered and turned back outside. I had a family of ferals who I captured in a humane trap, dropped each one off at Humane Society in the morning, they were spayed or neutered and checked for leukemia, had ears tipped, picked them up at 4:00 pm, kept them inside in carriers until next day and released. Took all summer but no more kittens in our neighborhood. As a matter of fact, two of the female kittens are still with me. They are fed and sheltered and are fifteen years old. So a tipped ear means they won’t be making babies !!

He looks so much like my last cat, Hobbes, who had a lot of Maine Coon in him and I'm pretty sure he had been abandoned (the first time he saw luggage come out of the closet he flipped out like you wouldn't believe). He had a safe spot in the bushes in front of my apartment building, and he really didn't roam anywhere. After about two weeks of socializing with him he was ready to sit down in my lap and the rest was history. We had 13 great years together, and was definitely more dog than cat.

Last year we had 21 kittens. One was a long haired orange, I found him wedged in a small space, he wasn't as big as the others and had no will to feed or move about. Picked him up and realized he was blind. Both residual eyes were extremely swollen and infected. He was listless and lost. Spent months working on his eyes(cleaning, meds to reduce swelling, antibiotics etc). I couldn't get him to the vet because it was shut down. We had to feed him with an eye dropper, force feed him really. He had no will to live. He just wanted to lay there and await death. We would have none of that. After two weeks of this he started to come around. Started eating, playing, purring, and growing. It was alot of work, but seeing him play now is one of my greatest joys! He finds his way around with no problems. Runs like a madman around the house( occasionally bumping into things). His sisters help him, and play with him all the time and that keeps his spirits up! He's one year old this month. He's the splitting image of Cinnabon. And much the same in temperament. I thank God daily for my little best friend. He's taught me so much. He's the smartest kitty I've ever met! And I'm the most blessed hooman for having him in my life. His name is Bubby. And I'll love him forever.

I wish I could post a picture of Courtyard Cat (aka C.C.) She showed up about 6 years ago on my deck in the courtyard. A beautiful dilute tortoiseshell girl with a tipped ear like Cinnabon's. She was absolutely terrified of me in the beginning too, but regular food, treats and a warm shelter changed that. Now she rarely leaves my yard, has an insulated cedar cat house and demands daily pettings, brushings and twice a day room service. I've tried to bring her inside during snow storms and cold weather, but she's not having it. So, (big softy that I am) I got her a reptile heater pad for her house to keep her toasty when it gets nasty here in the high desert. She's such a sweet kitty. You did the right thing, years ago I had an abandoned cat outside my place, I spent months trying to earn his trust, when I finally did I took him to the vet, as he had issues walking, turned out he needed an expensive surgery that I couldn't afford and he had to be put down, I think about it alot, no pet deserves to be left alone like that

Deep fried stuff & human foods are not only suitable ,but also dangerous ,toxic to them ! ( not highly toxic maybe ,but accumulatively toxic that means eventually kills them !),So ,please stop feeding chips & human foods! Believe ,or not most of veggies & plants are toxic to cats as they are sheer carnivores!💜

Every story of someone getting a cat is always “yeah this cat chose me”. Lol my cat chose me too. I went to the shelter a day earlier cause I didn’t know they were closed and he was scratching at the window meowing at me. I was like alright I’ll come get you tomorrow then.

It is so sad to see stray animals with no home or love but some get used to that life but it comes with hardships so when I see animals rescued and find a forever home it's the best happy ending .... I love the catch and release program for cats verses putting them to sleep and as the case of you and Cinnabon these cats do find happy endings.... Bless you for being so kind and bless Cinnabon a long , happy , healthy life with you .

Being adopted by a cat is a happy time. I've had that experience where the cat approaches you for help but isn't sure if you're the enemy. You slowly build up mutual trust over time and finally it's the cat that decides whether this is all going to work.
